Is the latest HouseFresh the best "which purifier, start here" video... ever?

... and not just because he name-drops the subreddit. 😉

Their new video is well-organized, hits the important points and common recommendations, and isn't too long. No small feat.

IMO if you could only send one link to help someone (especially a 'normie') buy a purifier, this would be the link. Watching it I almost felt like, "I can't compete, Danny did it best" 😂

I don't know if it's possible or benefiting to have a "Start Here First" sticky for common buying scenarios, but if so this video would be a strong candidate. Unfortunately it seems many people skip the wiki, and maybe having a video alternative is helpful for some folks.

Anyone tested AirFanta *without* the metal grills?

I removed the grills as an experiment (one grill at a time, unscrew-remove-rescrew, that's important), and wow! The airflow is noticeably better, and it seems to be quieter too. Win-win. There is a second flow straightening plastic grill that's just as tight, actually tighter, so it's still finger safe.

Has anyone tried this before? Am I actually getting more CADR doing this, or is it just an illusion based on flow collimation? Thank you.

Pro-tip: remove the metal grills on your AirFanta 3Pro

I removed the metal wire grill as a test, and all I can say is, wow! I thought the airflow and noise were great before, but this simple modification substantially increases airflow and reduces wind noise.

I also removed the white AirFanta branded stickers, and I used squares of clear packing tape to cover up the dust holes over the bearings. Just remember to only remove one grill at a time, and replace the screws as you go, so you don't have to re-position the metal connector plates.

There is a second "flow straightener" grill directly underneath the metal grill, so this doesn't effect safety for fingers or pets!

Has anyone else tried this mod?
