Why am I being charged for delivery and open box inspection as a Prime member?
I was planning to order the Sennheiser CX 80U today and noticed two extra charges at checkout that I don't quite understand.
₹29 for One-Day Delivery and ₹29 for Open Box Inspection both on a Prime membership.
Open Box means the delivery person opens the package in front of you so you can check the contents before accepting. That is just basic consumer protection, not a premium service. Why is that a paid add-on?
What exactly are we paying Prime for if basic delivery accountability costs extra? I can open the box for with no extra charges. Already we are paying extra ₹5 as platform charges.
I didn't end up ordering because of this. ₹58 extra on a ₹1,790 product doesn't sound like a lot but it's the principle, I'm already paying for Prime.
Has anyone else been seeing these charges lately? Are these guys trying to become flipkart? If amazon is like flipkart, what is the differentiation factor?
BTW, i tried to call customer service, during the discussion the call got disconnected. Usually they call back this time nothing happened. WOW I think Amazon decided to become AmazonKart. Pathetic.
Eventually ordered the product from Sennhieser directly. Good luck AmazonKart
