Got to spend some time with both the Nothing Phone (4a) and (4a) Pro recently.

​

Phone (4a) keeps that classic Nothing style from the 2a/3a series alive. Transparent design still looks super clean and the new Glyph Bar is actually pretty fun, though I’d still like to see more useful integrations for it in the future. Cameras were surprisingly good with sharp photos, nice colors, and even 70x zoom support.

​

Phone (4a) Pro feels like a more mature version of the same idea. It still has that Nothing identity but with a cleaner and more refined design that I personally liked a lot. The bigger Glyph Matrix is genuinely awesome and the community already making stuff for it makes it feel way more interesting. Cameras are noticeably better on the Pro and the jump to 140x zoom plus 4K60 support is great to have.

On both phones, Nothing OS continues to be one of the cleanest Android experiences around and the new Essential Voice feature is genuinely useful for typing, notes, and quick captures. The displays are excellent too with great brightness outdoors and no visibility issues in sunlight. Sound quality is decent, gaming performance stayed smooth, and battery life was good enough that I genuinely stopped thinking about charging anxiety altogether.

Overall, both phones feel refreshing in a market full of boring copy-paste slabs.

Hey everyone, apologies for the 2-day delay on this one, got caught up with some stuff. I didn't want to hold back the release any longer just because I haven't had time to make the usual artwork, so I'm just attaching a screenshot today! The good news is the update is officially rolling out.

Glyph Play is now live, exclusively for the Phone (4a) Pro. It’s currently in its beta stage, but it’s been thoroughly tested and is running stable. If you do run into any weird bugs, just shoot me a message or drop a comment.
