I didn’t know where else I could talk about this but I always loved The Darkness 2, it was the one I had when I was younger, so I decided to try The Darkness 1, I am kinda into the first part of the story even though it’s not the best, it’s okay but I’m trying my best to get into it, but I just absolutely cant, Jackie walks around like a snail, the gunplay is bad and feels like I’m playing a Wii game that got ported to other consoles, the darkness abilities don’t feel anywhere near how fleshed out they are in the 2nd and just feel underwhelming, I never even know where to go half the time and I constantly get lost, for whatever reason normal mode feels like I’m on hard mode, Jackie isn’t even surprised about his cursed powers and it’s like he just shrugs it off, he feels like a much more serious character in the 2nd, I wanted to forgive it for feeling so clunky but it just is. Then I was kinda surprised to see some people actually prefer the 1st game. When I think the 2nd is 100x better in every way, so much so they almost feel like different games that just has a story that aligns. I really wanna finish the first game but I’m just struggling to, I’m ready to just give it up and I’m not even half way. Does anyone else feel like this about the games? Darkness 1 fans forgive me, but I just prefer 2 in every single way.
