Skittish about Sept. LSAT

I’ve been prepping since late May and I’ve seen some progress, but never consistent. I want a 172 but would be pleased with anything 170 or above.

So far, I’ve seen a 164 (diagnostic), 165, 159, 164, 174, 167, 168, 165, 169, and 172, in this order, with the 172 last Monday.

I seem to be on the brink of success, and I’m really worried that I will have a slide of about three points when it comes to the actual test day (but I know this isn’t scientific at all, and I could very well perform better on test day) I just want to know, am I on the right track for a 172 or higher in three weeks, or should I lower my expectations? Thanks

16high --> 170s in a month?

Hey guys,

I started studying in late May for the LSAT, targeting the September exam. I made a 164 on the diagnostic on May 21st and was super excited by that, but I haven’t seen much growth. My goal is a 172, as my top school’s 75th percentile is a 171 and I will be a KJD applicant.

I’ve been using the LSAT trainer for lessons and 7sage for drills and practice tests, and I’ve since gotten 165, 159, 164, 174, 167, and 168 on PTs, in that order. (the 168 is from today on the 7sage site where I made 173 on blind review). I was really excited for the 174 on PT156 two weeks ago but I fear it was just a fluke. While I know that a 167/168 is a objectively a decent score, it's not enough for me and I feel miserable and need to get back to at least 170 before I'm confident for the September exam.

How can I get out of this rut and start seeing scores at my goal ASAP? Thanks for any help.

174 on PT 156 - fluke or breakthrough

I diagnosed at a 164 about a month and a half ago, and was thrilled until I was stagnant and even slid over the last few weeks (165 to 159 to 164 on subsequent PTs). Yesterday I made a 174 on PT 156 (which I didn't feel particularly strong on) and now I fear its a fluke and I dread slipping between now and my September exam. Any advice on how to maintain this level of performance? Thanks!

164 ➡️171+ by September exam

Hey guys,

I started studying about a month and a half ago for the LSAT, targeting the September exam. I made a 164 on the diagnostic on May 21st and was super excited by that, but I haven’t seen any growth. My goal is a 171 because that’s my top school’s 75th percentile but I at least want a 170.

I’ve been using the LSAT trainer for lessons and 7sage for drills and practice tests, and I’ve since gotten 165, 159, and 164 on PTs (the 164 is from today, my first PT on the 7sage site where I made 172 on blind review). This past week is the first where I’ve been using the 7sage study plan. I’m seeing my biggest weaknesses on flaws, conditional logic, must be false for logic, and inferences, author’s attitude, and WSEs for reading comprehension.

How can I get out of this rut and start seeing scores at my goal by mid-August? Thanks for any help.

164 ➡️ 170+ in 2-3 months?

I posted here recently about being a rising senior undergraduate planning to apply in the fall. I’ve got a 3.88 gpa and I just scored 164 on a cold diagnostic yesterday. I want at least a 170 (really 175+ because I fear top law schools will cut URM admissions) when I apply in fall 2026. I’m working with the LSAT trainer book, and may buy 7sage in the coming weeks.

Is moving from a 164 to a 170-175 feasible from now until the August LSAT, or should I wait until September as I originally planned ? Would testing again in October be too late for scholarships in this cycle? I’d appreciate any advice, thanks!!

157 diagnostic --> 170+ in 4 months?

I’m a current third year undergraduate student, and have been wanting to go to law school. I’ve got a 3.88 gpa so far and this past summer I did some LSAT prep, but didn’t prioritize it as much as I initially intended. I also took a course in Logic this past fall semester and I took my very first practice test in October and made a 157 — very disappointing as I want a 170+ (really 175+ because I fear top law schools will cut URM admissions) when I apply in fall 2026.

Unfortunately I was not able to devote enough time to prep this semester while I was studying abroad , but I return next week and will take another practice test ASAP to see what I’ve lost.

Is moving from a 157 to a 170-175 feasible from now until the September LSAT? I’d appreciate any advice, thanks!!
