Looking for movies/shows with intellectual combat similar to L vs. Light in Death Note

I’ve searched this sub before, but most recommendations feel vague. Do people mean paranormal elements, intellectual battles, or just dark themes?

L is my favorite fictional character ever (excluding video games). I know he’s basically Sherlock Holmes mixed with Bruce Wayne, but even the show Sherlock doesn’t capture what makes Death Note so addictive. I can rewatch it endlessly.

I’ve tried Monster. Great anime, but I don’t get the comparison to Death Note. It’s a slow-burn thriller with strong twists and atmosphere, but it lacks the intellectual cat-and-mouse dynamic.

I’ve heard Code Geass is the closest match, but I can’t watch it yet. In the meantime, I’m looking for movies, shows, or anime centered around two geniuses constantly outmaneuvering each other. The closest I’ve found so far is Columbo at its best.

Where can I watch an English dub of Code Geass?

I'm new to Anime. I've seen Deathnote countless times and have heard if I like Deathnote I'll love Code Geass. The Blue ray on Amazon is Japanese and I can't find it on any streaming service.

I did see it on Crunchroll but have never heard of this website. Should I get subscription just to watch Code Geass?

Edit: Please offer suggestions on where I can watch a legal copy of Code Geass dubbed in English.

Plot point not addressed: Someone who may want to take their own life would do evil

I've seen the show like 5x. Haven't read the manga.

Light wants to the world of evildoers by preventing crime. Pretty sure they cover everything I could think of, even the UN accusing the CIA of a secret weapon at first. It's a great show.

But what if someone was over their life, and decided they were too cowardly to do it on their own so they committed grand larceny or something, knowing Kira would end them?
