I’m a professional makeup artist looking for a long-term digital marketing and branding partner to help scale my personal brand on Instagram and eventually other social media platforms.
I’ve been working with an agency for about a month, but I’ve realized we’re not aligned creatively or strategically, so I’m exploring other options.

What I’m looking for

1. Strong aesthetic sense
This is probably the most important requirement.
● You should genuinely understand luxury beauty, makeup, fashion, and premium visual branding.
● I don’t want generic templates or creatives that feel AI-generated.
● Every post, reel, carousel, and story should feel intentional, polished, and visually cohesive.

2. Ability to translate creative vision
● I usually have a clear vision for how I want something to look.
● I’m looking for a team that can understand that vision and bring it to life—not reinterpret it into something completely different.
● Collaboration is important. I don’t want to feel like I’m compromising on content simply because we’ve run out of revisions.

3. Strategy before content
I don’t believe content should be created just to “see what works.”
Before designing content, I’d like to establish:
● Brand positioning
● Target audience
● Brand personality
● Content pillars
● Messaging
● Short-term and long-term growth strategy
Once those foundations are in place, content can be created with purpose instead of guessing.

4. Understanding of the beauty industry
Ideally, you’ve worked with:
● Makeup artists
● Beauty brands
● Skincare brands
● Luxury personal brands
● Fashion or lifestyle creators
Understanding the industry and consumer behavior is a huge advantage.

5. Professional content creation
I’m looking for professionals who can create:
● Premium Instagram posts
● High-quality reels
● Story content
● Educational content
● Promotional campaigns
I’m looking for designers and marketers with real creative experience—not someone who relies entirely on ChatGPT, Gemini, or AI tools to generate ideas and visuals without adding original creative thinking or professional design expertise.

6. Meta Ads & Performance Marketing
You should have proven experience with:
● Meta Ads
● Facebook Ads
● Instagram Ads
● Lead generation
● Conversion campaigns
● Retargeting
● Analytics and optimization
Running ads should be based on strategy and data—not just boosting posts.

7. Feedback loops & continuous improvement
This is extremely important to me.
I want an agency that actively studies audience behavior and continuously improves based on data.
That includes:
● Reading comments and DMs
● Looking at saves, shares, watch time, reach, and engagement
● Identifying what content resonates and what doesn’t
● Reviewing both successful and underperforming posts
● Using those learnings to improve future content
I don’t want every post to exist in isolation. Every piece of content should help us better understand the audience.

8. Strategic guidance and honest opinions
I’m not looking for someone who simply executes instructions.
When I ask questions like:
● “Why do you think this post worked?”
● “Why didn’t this perform well?”
● “What should we change next?”
● “What trends are you noticing?”
● “What are our competitors doing differently?”
I expect thoughtful, experience-based answers backed by data—not guesses or generic responses.
I value agencies that challenge ideas when necessary, explain their reasoning, and bring strategic thinking to the table instead of simply agreeing with everything I say.

9. Collaborative creative process
Creative work is subjective.
I’m happy to provide detailed briefs, references, and feedback, but I also need a team that’s collaborative and committed to getting the work right. If a creative still doesn’t align with the agreed vision after a couple of revisions, I’d rather solve the problem together than settle for something I’m not proud to publish.
