Calling all nature lovers, action-takers, people who want to meet new people and work together on something big: Cemetery Prairie Restoration Marathon starts this weekend!
A month-long marathon of cemetery prairie eco-restoration workdays across the northern half of the state kicks off a year of intensive care for these irreplaceable treasures.
Join people who care in making a life-or-death difference for some of the last and best surviving prairie remnants in the prairie state!
This is a statewide initiative, with several opportunities in the Chicago suburbs. For more details, including a full list of dates, times, and a backstory on pioneer cemetery prairies and eco-restoration, visit: https://friendsofillinoisnaturepreserves.org/illinoiscemeteryprairies/
Come on out, meet cool people, and be part of a friendly community focused on the critical, exciting work of saving nature.
