First spatula

Was resawing some Australian spotted gum slabs on the bandsaw recently and had some offcuts good size for some kitchen utensils. I needed some upgrades so got out the carving kit for the first time in a couple years. Have only carved spoons before so need to refine how deep my initial gouges are in future. Pretty happy with how they came out though from some offcuts I would have otherwise burnt lovely bit of spalting in both also

No offence meant by this

I stumbled upon this reddit group and thought it might be interesting due to going through some life shit that has caused a dip in confidence a few times over personally, would be able to give me some tips or hear similar circumstances from other ppl that then have other recommendations on how to switch things up.

But instead I seem to just read “here’s my unique circumstances on why I lack confidence, tailer your advice to this please” kinda approach but when you dig through a lot of posts in here you’ll find a person that speaks the truth in how it’s a mindset shift overall that need changing on how you perceive yourself and things in your life that needs the most work..across the board.

Which leads to me to the gem pinned up the top of this group “how to be confident”. It seems that if ppl read and took onboard and tried the lessons in that so it became second nature it would address a large % of their woes. Whomever wrote that little pinned article deserves a pat on the back. It has helped me more as a simple go to reminder than anything else. Thankyou! Obviously I’m not saying that this cures actual issues like depression or other mental illness that can affect impact confidence etc etc all I’m saying is that a lot of common confidence related questions and scenarios can be addressed by thoroughly reading and re reading that first pinned article. Thank you!
