This play from the Essen vs Freiburg match

Hopefully it won’t be compressed to hell. This was the last day of matches for Frauen Bundesliga and it looked like Essen, while relegated no matter the outcome, would go out with at least a win at home. But no, Freiburg managed to score in the 80+ minutes to tie it at the end. It was sad to see the Essen players exit with tears in their eyes. :(

Is the 25/26 WSL ball the worst ball design of the year?

OK so I get this explanation (below), but does it have to be so ugly? It's like some kind of tryptophobic spider-eyes. Couldn't they have at least added some color?

Are there uglier balls than this in other leagues this year?

Also, when was the last time they used the classic black and white pentagon design? They should bring that back for a year or a special event.

"The technology tracks ball speed, spin, flight trajectories, high-intensity efforts, tactical patterns, and off-ball movements. Players, coaches, and training staff subsequently gain access to comprehensive data previously unavailable in domestic competition."

At what cost WSL and Nike...

Vfl Wolfsburg = Volkswagen, Vfb Stuttgart = Mercedes-Benz, FC Bayern Munchen = ???

Given that VW HQ is in Wolfsburg, and the newly promoted Stuttgart (Congrats!), has Mercedes (Porsche would be cool too), how is BMW not yet sponsoring Bayern??? VW is the main sponsor on their kits, Stuttgart has the MB tri-star on their shorts.

BMW is one of the first things I think about when someone mentions München. Is there a story behind why they haven't or don't?

Also, will Allianz still be Stuttgart's main sponsor next season, while being Bayern's main sponsor?

Now that the top Euro leagues' seasons are coming to a close, how will you bide the time until the next season?

What are some other events between the seasons to bide the time with? I imagine there will be some international matches.

I'll get my fix with NWSL, Damallsvenskan (which continues until November!), play some FC26, watch some retrospective videos. Anything else?

Hamburg players thinking it’s a boss fight and attacking the goalie for maximum damage.

The third player could have tapped it in to the right, no? They must have had target fixation.

Bayern vs Hoffenheim match, but also Cerci vs Eriksson

Did anyone catch this game earlier today (yesterday)? Something interesting happened where around the 22 min mark, Eriksson was defending Cerci and she threw her down, but the ref didn't call it. Soon after there was a free kick (I think) for something else on the far side of the pitch and Cerci went running towards Eriksson and body checked her causing Eriksson to fall flat on her back. Cerci got a yellow card. It was clearly a retaliation, but it also felt like Cerci had to answer her and show that she would not be intimidated.

Then Cerci scored a goal in the 41st minute with a nice flick to the side to bypass the goalie. It looked like Hoffenheim was on their way to produce the first defeat of Bayern this season, largely due to the excellent defense by Hoffenheim, stopping 25 shots attempted by Bayern (vs. 2 by Hoffenheim!).

However, in the 89th minute, a cross by who else, Buhl (subbed in), resulted in a header by... Eriksson! So that would have been an amazing coincidence, except that in the replay it shows what looks like an own goal by a Hoffenheim defender. The official results don't seem to have corrected this.

So, a super interesting match in the sense that it involved two players getting at it each other. As an epilogue, at the end of the match, the camera caught Cerci going over to Eriksson and she offered her hand and they hugged it out.

I subscribed to Fanseat (about $10/month) so that I can watch all the Damallsvenskan (Swedish league) matches this year. One huge caveat is that THERE IS NO COMMENTARY for the matches, just ambient stadium noise and a bit of interviews in the beginning and the end (No translation). It's super barebones. It definitely puts a damper on my enthusiasm for the broadcasts, but it's still worth it for the relatively small price for the next 3-4 months (?), being able to watch them live, and the replays. My poor Rosengards... 😞

AWSN ran the replays on streaming (Amazon) for last year's matches and they still are, just not as frequently. Those streams have commentary and pretty decent one at that. They're pretty good at informing me of all the goings-on in Damallsvenskan. But I'm a bit pissed because AWSN advertises as "catch all the Damallsvenskan on AWSN" but they are not live, and haven't shown one match for this season.

I don't think there are any other options in the US. Damallsvenskan won't upload any full match videos on Youtube, just highlights. Weak

Which league do you follow and how much of their matches do you watch? I got curious because I'm relatively new to the sport (this year) and I have been watching ALL of WSL matches for 2025/2026.

I also follow Frauen Bundesliga and watch all of them as well (ones that are available in the US - DAZN and Youtube).

I also try and watch all of Damallsvenskan (got a subscription to Fanseat for live and replay matches).

Then I watch some NWSL matches (Bay FC, Angel City and the good teams).

And all available International matches that involve England, Germany, Japan, Australia, USA, and Sweden.

Is this normal or am I going to burn out?

I love this scrappy team. They're near the bottom of the table, but safe from relegation. Yet within the last three matches, they've managed to beat Bremen, tie Wolfsburg, and give Bayern a run for the money.

I would LOVE to attend one of the home matches. The fan support is unreal. If you haven't watch one of the matches on Dazn or Youtube. They're always almost sold out and the roar from the chants are LOUD and it goes on for the entire match. I don't think any team in any league even comes close to the enthusiasm and support.

I learned that they are fan-owned and that the fans built the stadium. Of the matches I've seen them, they never seem to give up which results in taking advantage of the opponent's mistakes. They just made their way into Frauen Bundesliga this year and I hope they keep getting better!
