MI senate race should be ~7 pt win for Dems. To lose, AES would have to be one of the worst Democratic candidates in the entire country.

From the NYTimes article:

>If there’s any good news for Dr. El-Sayed, it’s that he ought to have a lot of room to underperform and still win. With Democrats ahead by an average of seven points on the generic ballot nationwide — in which people are asked which party they’ll support for Congress in November — Democrats ought to be favored to win an open Senate race in Michigan by a similar margin. Most of the candidates of the progressive left haven’t underperformed by so much. To lose, he would need to be one of the worst electoral performers in the party. But if the early polls are any indication, it’s possible he will be.

Mary Peltola: Campaign team undergoing massive changes, many are being let go

Why isn't Mary Peltola receiving the same attention as these other candidates? She never tops this fundraising list. Her race is still tight.

She did start off well when she first announced and has a decent campaign war chest overall, but most of these guys are really outperforming her and getting more national attention. El Sayed and Troy obviously were only just nominated but Abdul received $3.3 million for July alone; they may surpass Peltola at this rate.

"I wonder why they're so focused on foreign properties for someone with a name like mine. Do you think it might fit within a well worn trope?"

At this point, which Dems (list) do you feel fairly confident will run in 2028 (assuming no personal emergencies)?

Harris (determined to prove that 2024 wasn't her fault)

Newsom (most obviously, wants it badly)

AOC (even if just to influence the field)

Buttigieg (town halls, national level media)

Shapiro (not shy about interest in running)

Beshear (not shy about intent to run)

Whitmer ("ambivalent" but some early behavior. Recent national, forward-looking messaging)

Moore (denies, but behavior is there, was recently in SC)

Pritzker

Ossoff (denies, but I think he'll run when pushed enough)

Murphy (new book and traveling nationwide)

Khanna

Emmanuel

Slotkin

Gallego
