Request: Thin, crispy, flaky sugar coating for pastry

I'm looking for basically what's in the title. I'm making a puff pastry dessert and I want a really particular kind of coating that I can't seem to achieve. It's not quite a glaze but maybe a glaze would get me there. I've tried brushing a concentrated simple sugar before baking, brushing with butter and dusting powdered sugar before baking, and a couple thin layers of donut glaze after baking but it hasn't been right.

I'd love for it to be almost like a thin shell that flakes up and has a little crispness to it when you bite through it. Idk how else to describe it. Been looking online for an example but haven't been able to find one. I'm willing to retry things that I've already done in case I went the wrong way about it. I appreciate any advice.

Research on most effective strategies reading and mathematcs?

I'm looking for some contemporary research or synthesis of research results that go over effective teaching strategies for kids. Specifically for math and reading. I appreciate any direction. Not really looking for a particular age range for the kids. My daughter is still very young. I just want to learn how to teach for when the time comes
