Why I don't think blasting high doses of MT-1 makes sense

See so many people taking 1mg or more a day thinking it’s going to make them dark overnight, but I really don't think it works like that. Looking at how MT-1 actually works in the body, taking huge doses just seems like a waste.

Here’s how I see it:

  • Your receptors fill up fast: Your skin cells can only take in so much signal at once. Once those receptors are full, taking extra peptide won't make you any darker, your body just discards the rest.
  • Skin can only produce so fast: MT-1 triggers the enzyme that builds pigment, but that enzyme has a natural speed limit. You can't force your cells to build color faster just by dumping more into your system.
  • Skin turnover takes time anyway: It takes about 10 to 14 days for new pigment in the deeper skin layers to actually show up on the surface. Blasting high doses won't speed up how fast your skin renews itself.
  • Higher doses just mean more dark spots: Taking way too much doesn't give you a smoother tan faster—it usually just increases the chance of random dark spots, darker moles, or uneven patches.

IMO, taking a small daily dose around 250mcg consistently gets you to the exact same place as megadosing, without wasting product or risking weird side effects.

Moles and MT2

Hey everyone,

I’m planning a cycle with Melanotan 1 and want to hear your experiences and advice regarding skin checks/dermatologist visits and mole safety.

I have a few specific questions:

Timing of skin checks: Is it better to get your moles checked by a dermatologist during a cycle/maintenance phase, or is it better to wait until after stopping?

Waiting period: If it’s best to wait until after stopping MT1, how long should you wait for the skin and moles to fully fade back to baseline so the dermatologist gets an accurate reading without "pigment noise"?

Masking melanoma: What are your experiences or knowledge regarding MT1 darkening moles and potentially masking early-stage melanoma (or visual structural changes) under a dermatoscope?

Monitoring: Has anyone had a dermatologist evaluate their moles while on MT1? Did the doctor comment on the hyperpigmentation, or did they just rely on standard ABCDE/structural signs?

Would love to hear how you guys handle mole monitoring, baseline photos, and doctor visits while using MT1/MT2

Crohns disease and peptides

Hey everyone, I’m currently taking infliximab for my Crohn’s disease, which I’ve had for some years now. Everything is under control and I feel fine.

I’ve started to consider taking some peptides like MT-1 and was wondering if anyone has had any bad reactions while taking peptides while on immunosuppressants?
