Just an incredible number for our little club in Annapolis.

Our own blues legend Jacob Murrell has a new home with Falkirk FC in the Scottish Premier League. He will join Luke Dunne as the second blues alumni to play in Europe this year. Cool stuff for our little club in naptown

So we’ve reached the end of year 4. The Blues finish 5th in the ever difficult Chesapeake Division with a final record of 7W-5L-2D.

I think it’s fair to say this year was a disappointment; on paper coming into the year, I really thought the boys were going to challenge for the second playoff spot (let’s be honest, Lionsbridge is still heads and shoulders above us) but a midseason slump found us sitting at home for the postseason for a second straight year. I’d sum this year up as “weird” because this team is certainly better than their record and showed it throughout the year.

If you take out a number of boneheaded mistakes, this squad is getting for a playoff game

I’m not really sure what happened this year, was it the scheme, the players or something else? There seemed to be a lack of focus in critical minutes which is unusual for this club.

This team lot a lot of minutes from last year and some really big leaders. If I’m this coaching staff, my number one need for this offseason is to find a stud field general CB for next year who can anchor that defense.

All that said, there is a ton to be excited about from this year. If we are playing in other division, we’re getting ready to not only play in a playoff game but host.

Brady Geho was incredible once again this year. I think he highlights that the offense of this team is at its best when they have a big number 9 to play the ball to. I would love for him to be back next year; looks like he has a grad year at Bryant but won’t be shocked if he gets picked up by a pro league if he has a good season.

I was also very impressed by the play of Pius Ssebulime out of Rutgers and Enzo De Almedia, hope we can bring them both back for 2027.

Attendance may have been down a bit but going up against the World Cup and some really tough weather this year, I’ll take it everyday. Would like to see the club continue to push group tickets and outings

As for 2027, I’d like to see the club continue to push their social media presence and really lean into being “Annapolis’s” team, which they are really starting to do well. I’d love a quick game recap on IG/ socials to keep people who missed the game involved. I would also love it they were to live tweet the games, Lionsbridge does it so well.

I think they need to continue to lean into their players and try to make them stars - more graphics on the screen, more using them by name. Get the fans to associate the number with the player

It seems like the sky is the limit for this club but they need to keep their momentum and make sure the focus is the event on the field, we need to make sure we are cultivating fans of the game and not just the experience. I love what they did this year with kickabouts at Homestead and the watch parties. I’d like to see them continue to work with the supporters groups and make home a hostile spot for visitors.

I was privy to some information that the club is scouting three locations for a stadium build. Hopefully that’s the case, but to get there we need season ticket holders and butts in seats. Make sure to reup your tickers, even if you can’t make every game, consider it an investment into the club. Buy the merch, tell your friends, get the word out everywhere you can. If we want this club to go pro, it’s going to take an effort on the pitch and in the stands.

In a series of gut punches this year, this may have been the worst. The blues had a chance to keep their slim playoff hopes alive with a win but conceded another late goal to earn a 1-1 draw against top of the table VBU.

Super frustrating especially since I think we played well tonight.

Very little room for error in this division when you have Lionsbridge sitting at 31 points with a game to go.

A season of “what-ifs”. It was going to be a stretch to make it but Saturday would have been fun to have a shot.

Either way, let’s pack it out Saturday and send the boys off in style

Man, what a crazy last 15 minutes that was. Really proud of the boys to get a point there but to concede in the last seconds was gut punch in a season of gut punches .

For those who didn’t see the game Annapolis goes down to ten men in the 60ish minute, Bethesda goes up 2-1.

Annapolis, despite being down a man start pressing like crazy and in the 86 min blues get an equalizer. Then in stoppage, Geho finds the back of the net to take the lead 3-2.

Bethesda ties it in the last minute of the game off a set piece. Ends 3-3

Absolutely wild game. Did anyone else notice how our offense opened up after we went down to ten men? Felt like a different team

Just a complete mess of a game. Blues dominate the first half and concede a goal that bounces right onto the foot of a Nova player. Like Big Sam said on the last pod, it felt like the scoring was going to come and it just never did.

Don’t even get me started on that absurd PK call. That just cannot be the call, not even close to a PK. I swear it feels like we are on the wrong side of every bad all. How many times are we gonna get the shaft?

An insane number to pull while the World Cup is on. To put in context, it would beat 18/24 teams average 2025 attendance in the USL Championship. Really incredible

What a response from the boys, most complete game we’ve played to date, really liked what I saw from the offense tonight. We aren’t dead yet, let’s win out and see what happens
