question for those with improper tongue posture & have had their braces removed:

if you have had your braces taken off and have “bad” tongue posture (your tongue lays at the bottom of your mouth/touching your teeth and not lightly suctioned to the roof of your mouth like my ortho says it should), has it messed up your final results?

(i don’t mean like actively pressing against your teeth or anything, just resting against them)

i know it absolutely can put pressure on your teeth and move them but i just cannot keep proper tongue posture 🥲 i have been practicing for 2 entire years and its all i think about 24/7 and have had panic attacks about it because i’m terrified i will ruin my progress when i get my braces off. i have a tongue tie that makes it SO hard to keep my tongue up there and cant afford to get it snipped or do myofunctional therapy.

i will of course keep practicing and trying to get it right but i have constant anxiety over it and i’m just hoping for positive stories so i can ease my mind even a tiny bit 🥲
