Likelihood my cat got taken by a coyote?

My cat went missing 8 days ago. She escaped overnight and the next day I found piles of bird feathers and a pile of scattered fur tufts (potential match for her fur) in the wash behind my fenced backyard. No blood or body, but I understand coyotes and other predators can have a clean kill and leave behind little evidence. Does this seem like a probable coyote attack? I spotted 2 walking by on a game cam I installed a couple days later to look for her.

EDIT: she was a feral cat that was trapped. Since I’ve adopted her she’s been an indoor cat. I believe she escaped through our 2 panel magnetic doggy door that I thought she was too small to push through. Trust me, I’ve regretted not locking it ever since she got out.

Lost cat

Feeling helpless over here. My cat escaped 5 nights ago and we haven’t had any sightings of her. She’s close to a year old and lived as a stray for the first ~7 months of her life. She’s been with me for 3 months now and I already love her so much. She’s been an indoor cat since we adopted her but has explored in the fenced backyard a few times. She lost her backyard privileges when she escaped through the fence into the wash.

I’m worried a coyote ambushed her because our backyard is up against a wash that coyotes travel through (also people walking their dogs, it’s a neighborhood, but close to some desert mountains) and I found a pile of fur tufts 15 feet from our backyard fence. No blood or skin. Just soft undercoat fur, could have come from her. Could possibly be rabbit fur. I truly don’t know.

It’s extremely hot during the day and I’m just so worried about her. I hope that she’s okay and hiding somewhere but it’s hard not to assume the worst. We hung a game cam that spotted coyotes walking past 2 nights after she went missing. We’ve hung flyers, posted on social media, gone out every night with flashlights looking for her, called her name, stayed quiet, sat by the back fence with smelly food at dawn and dusk, hung up clothes that smell like us and put her favorite chair outside. We’ve spotted a different cat several times and are unsure whether it’s a stray or another lost cat. It bolts when we get close.

At this point I’m running myself ragged with worry and don’t know what to do anymore. I miss her quiet, curious presence and her night time kitten demon energy. And her snuggles 😔
