Schengen visa validity after old French visa history

Hi everyone, IM a Moroccan student currently studying medicine in China, and I’m planning to apply for a Schengen visa (France) for a trip in January/February 2027.
My previous Schengen history was all through France:
2015: 3-month visa
2016: 6-month visa
2017: 6-month visa
2018: 1-year visa
All were used properly. Since then, I’ve mainly been studying in China since 2023, but my current passport doesn’t show much travel history only between home and china.
My current Moroccan passport expires june 27 but I’m currently in Morocco and can renew it before returning to China and idk if i should do it now or till January
My question is mainly about visa validity:
-Given my previous history (3 → 6 → 6 → 12 months), is it realistic to receive more than 3 months this time, such as 6 months or 1 year?
-Does the fact that my last Schengen visa was 1 year in 2018 help despite the ~8-year gap?
Would you recommend renewing my passport now before applying, or just applying with my current passport cause im still getting a 30 or 60 days visa ?
-If I renew, I would submit my old passport/copies showing the previous French visas.
I’m not asking about approval chances in general — I’m mainly wondering about the validity period of the visa based on this history.
Has anyone had a similar situation, especially with an old 1-year French Schengen visa followed by a long gap?
Thanks!
