Why do some T-55s have missing splash guards?
I've noticed that in some images of T-55s (or T-62s), the splash guard in the upper front glacis is missing. Why is that the case?
I'm aware that some modernized variants don't have it to make way for things like ERA, though the tank in question is an earlier version with the hull MG still present.
