Is there a financial benefit to having MicroCenter swap CPU to a higher chip, vs me just buying the higher chip and doing it myself? [Ryzen 5 to Ryzen 7, same socket, e.g.]

I don't want to throw out a perfectly good package CPU or its value, but the rest of the package is a good deal.

Also a little concerned about them not taking proper care of the transplant, I've seen too many stories of leaving cellophane on the die. I'm competent to build it from scratch, just looking for the right deal on the price.
