My bedroom in 1996. I was a college student at the time.

I saw that someone else had posted a '90s bedroom picture. Here are some pictures of my bedroom (definitely NOT AI). These were taken in maybe late '96 or early '97. This room was my shelter, my place of refuge. It's where I spent most of my time. Perhaps too much time, I might admit. But for an introvert like myself, this room was not only the place where I went to be alone, but it's where I went to meditate on the nature of my loneliness. I needed a quiet place to recharge my soul's batteries, which could quickly become depleted from socializing as even spending time with friends I was comfortable with would drain my energon cubes. Dad would often say that I had the most relaxing room in the house. At night the room would glow from the red paper lantern, blue neon phone, and small fish tank with a Siamese Betta fish named Steve. I'd light a candle and listen to bands like Lush, The Ocean Blue, The Trashcan Sinatras, and Kitchens of Distinction. I had everything I needed: a TV, a VCR, a Super Nintendo game system, a stereo with a tape deck and multi-CD disc changer, my music collection, and a humble science fiction book collection. I also had a 286AT computer which I'd use to connect to BBSes. In these pics you might spot a stack of letters to my pen-pal in Japan, a cute girl whom I eventually married. We've been married for 25 years now.

Sleepy Nadia figure gachapon series! I managed to get all four!

I lucked out and got Nadia first. I managed to get all four, with Jean being the final one. I ended up with Two Nemos in the process.

A couple of Nadia hologram buttons I bought off Mercari

There's a set of Nadia buttons that are blind-wrapped. I do not know where these are being sold, but they've been popping up on Mercari and YAJ. I got this set of Nadia wearing her white island dress.

Hi, I installed Bazzite on a Dell Optiplex minicomputer to make it my Steam/multimedia computer. The internal WiFi on this hand-me-down is a bit wonky since it did not have a proper antenna installed. I disabled this in the BIOS and bought a TP-Link USB WiFi dongle. It works, but after I shut down it no longer works. Every time I boot it up, I have to unplug the USB dongle, plug it back in, and then it recognizes my network. So the thing works, but I have to unplug it and then replug it in every time for it to work. Is this just an unfortunate problem with Bazzite being an "immutable" OS? I do not have this problem leaving my Logitech joypad plugged in at all times, as you can see in this picture.

I have experience with other Linux distros, but I'm still new to Bazzite. Actually, now that I've closed the window I took this screenshot of, I cannot find out how I accessed it. I don't know how I got into it. I just want it to default to this USB dongle every time it boots up. Thanks.

The promise of EmuDeck is to add some games into my Steam Library, so that they'd show up just like any other Steam Game. Sounds nice. All I wanted to do was to add a few Neo Geo shmups like Blazing Star and Pulstar, both of which I'd gladly purchase through the Steam Store if they were available, but I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition. I just wanted the Neo Geo emulator, not butthundred other emulators I can already play through my RetroPie device. I made the mistake of choosing the "easy" option, but even then that won't work.

It promises that I can add games and have them put into my Steam library just like any other game. NOPE. It says it'll add the EmulationStation to the library. NOPE. I was able to MANUALLY add ES as a non-steam game. So I tried running it and it pulled up the ES menu. Then the roms won't load because of dependencies. And when the game doesn't load, it spits me into a RetroArch core load screen. No way to get out of it, so I have to hard kill it. I may as well uninstall this trash and just use RetroPie which is much easier to use.

I'm happy to get to watch Nadia on Sunday mornings! Last week was episode 4 with the submarine battle, and this week is the highly-emotional episode 5. So this is a 4K remaster, but honestly I cannot tell the difference between this and the bluray. I'd have to see them side-by-side somehow but even then I don't really care because I'm not picky and it's why I'm not scrambling to buy a 4K bluray player. I have a friend who swears he can hear the superior sound quality of an ATRAC music file on a minidisc over a standard MP3, but I can't.

Actually, it starts at around 8:50am. There are no commercials. It's the submarine battle episode. I am a happy owner of the bluray, which is such a fantastic improvement over my ADVision DVD box sets with its dark, washed out colors. The difference was immediately striking. As for this 4k broadcast, I honestly cannot tell the difference between this and the regular HD bluray picture quality. Still, it's cool to see Nadia on TV!
