My bedroom in 1996. I was a college student at the time.
I saw that someone else had posted a '90s bedroom picture. Here are some pictures of my bedroom (definitely NOT AI). These were taken in maybe late '96 or early '97. This room was my shelter, my place of refuge. It's where I spent most of my time. Perhaps too much time, I might admit. But for an introvert like myself, this room was not only the place where I went to be alone, but it's where I went to meditate on the nature of my loneliness. I needed a quiet place to recharge my soul's batteries, which could quickly become depleted from socializing as even spending time with friends I was comfortable with would drain my energon cubes. Dad would often say that I had the most relaxing room in the house. At night the room would glow from the red paper lantern, blue neon phone, and small fish tank with a Siamese Betta fish named Steve. I'd light a candle and listen to bands like Lush, The Ocean Blue, The Trashcan Sinatras, and Kitchens of Distinction. I had everything I needed: a TV, a VCR, a Super Nintendo game system, a stereo with a tape deck and multi-CD disc changer, my music collection, and a humble science fiction book collection. I also had a 286AT computer which I'd use to connect to BBSes. In these pics you might spot a stack of letters to my pen-pal in Japan, a cute girl whom I eventually married. We've been married for 25 years now.
