Speciality Dining Reservations

Hello! I’m sailing on the Venezia early next year, we’re going with another family under a different reservation. I see them listed as my cruise companion however when I go to book a specialty dining reservation I don’t see them listed.
Should they book a separate reservation at the same time & when we get there ask to combine or what is the best way to do this?

Carnival Venezia Masquerade Night

Hi,

Just booked a cruise on the Venezia for next summer! I saw that they have a masquerade night for their formal night with the captain. I was wondering if anyone has done this before? Do people bring their own masks from home or does the ship have some for sale onboard? Any other tips about this or the ship would be appreciated!

How to give my 12 year old more autonomy?

Hi all,

I recently signed my 12 yr old up for a summer camp that he went to and really enjoyed last year, when I told him about it he said he didn’t want to go. I asked why since he liked it last year. He told me that last year he has a say, but this year “you’re making me go against my choice.” This follows a pattern with him where when we ask him to do basic hygiene tasks he gets mad & asks why saying “it’s my body, why don’t I have a say over it?” He has expressed over & over again he feels like he just gets told what to do & doesn’t have a say in his life. I get it as a kid you have someone telling you when to go to bed, someone telling you to do chores, and often have familial obligations you don’t want to do. We’ve tried to explain why these things are important but he says he doesn’t care if he smells & he never wants to leave the house.

I don’t want him to feel powerless, what are some things I can do to help give him more autonomy in his life?
