Is a Percolation Area 'too fertile' to grow Wildflower meadow?
Hi,
I have a septic tank and percolation area which is approx 60m2 in total. It is currently overgrown with nettles, docks, long grass and thistles. I plan to strim this back and try cultivate it to become a wildflower meadow.
I plan to sow Yellow Rattle into it to suppress grass growth but is this area too fertile to try establish a wildflower meadow? It's strimmed yearly and Nettles and Docks are up to 4ft tall. Will I have difficulty establishing this here as the area is ideal conditions for grass and weed growth?
It's an area where I would like to rewild for pollenaters and also have a patio looking over it so would like the mix of colour too.
Thanks in advance, completely new to wildflowers.
