Refinished 1940s cedar chest

Refinished 1940s cedar chest

My dad refinished a cedar chest I purchased for $80 off of a local rummage sale. It’s not Lane, but it’s from the 1940s. It’s at my folks house for now until they find time to haul it back. Very grateful for them:)

I wish I would’ve grabbed a photo of the inside, it’s beautiful.
Dad replaced the lock too.

Oak Teachers desk

The top can also convert to a flat, even desk top. It’s very heavy, but cost me $50 at the local habitat for humanity. I’ve been looking for a desk and I like this one as is, but plan on sprucing it up with my dad’s help…

Found eastern SD gravel

Rock ID insists this is a ruby, it’s a pretty purple…I guess idk don’t have a UV light handy either.

Found these pretty stones at the Missouri River, including two petrified wood pieces

Not sure what the purple rocks are, but the deeper purple stone certainly has a gorgeous violet color.
Petrified wood pieces after that, then a chert, I think.

Found central SD, all three rocks about the size of a baseball or a bit larger.
