Went to Fairburn South Dakota over the weekend and found some burners and lace agates
A lot going on with this little chunk!!!
I believe it came from New Mexico.
Was slabbing a Brazilian agate and the heel was very thin so I just dropped it in the cull bucket. After I finished cutting for the day I looked in the bucket and saw this vulture staring back at me. I had to go out in the yard and find him the perfect perch.
I thought about polishing it but it’s so fragile I’m afraid it would break. The scratches and ridges just make it looks like feathers
I bought this natural chalcedony months ago. The large white cloud appears to be completely enclosed within the translucent chalcedony, giving it a floating appearance when backlit
I haven't been able to find another specimen with a similar pattern. Is this uncommon, or have you seen similar pieces before?
Found near Montreal river between WI/MI.
I’m looking for opinions on the best way to cut this 4 bubble thunder egg. Based on the exposed window I’m thinking about cutting right where the fracture starts . This would give me a 4 chamber top and a 3 chamber bottom.
Of course it needs to stay together while I cut but I have high hopes
