I have had several warnings (car beeping) when I left my dog in the boot of my S7 when I wanted to go into a shop for a quick purchase. I don't understand how to prevent this. I usually leave my vehicle running with the aircon on and lock the door.

It happened again today, but this time I also got an email which I only became aware of when I got home. It said:

Dear BYD Vehicle Owner:

2026-08-18 14:21. Your car BYD SEALION 7 identifies that there may be children or other living bodies left in the car, and there is a safety risk. The alarm is turned on now. Please confirm the situation in the car immediately!Note: You can cancel the alarm by unlocking the door or opening any door.

This is an automated email. No reply needed.

Receiving such messages via email is useless to me as I generally don't check my email when making short stops. Is there any way to have such emails sent by text/SMS instead? Also, how do others prevent the Child Detection from triggering when you want to leave the car for a short time (maybe up to 10 minutes)?

I know there has been a lot posted about this recently, but I still am a bit confused about the MY. Some people are claiming they have a got a MY26 car and others saying they got a MY25 car when they were expecting MY26. My VIN and Rego indicates a build of 05/26. I have been on several insurance sites today and every one, whether I select by Registration Number or by Make/Model, when I specify Sealion 7, displays "2026 Byd Sealion 7 Auto NA 4D Wagon" and then asks me to select between the variants: Performance 1 Speed Auto MY 25 or Premium 1 Speed Auto MY25. No where is there a MY26 option.

I am aware there is little difference between MY25 and MY26, but why isn't a MY26 variant an option if people are getting MY26 deliveries? Also, since my build is 05/26, why would they be manufacturing MY25 models still? Additionally, nowhere on the documentation I received from BYD: Configuration, Purchase Order or Invoice: does it indicate a Model Year.

Could someone please tell me the exact name for the iPhone BYD app for Australia. I will be getting a Sealion 7 on Thursday. When I search on BYD, there are several different apps listed.

For those who ordered in Perth at the end of March and are awaiting allocation, I have just been allocated a VIN today. It appears to be a 26 model (there was speculation I would get a 25 model) and the almost $6k February Incentive discount had been honoured. Whoopee!.

No delivery date set yet.

I have received the same emails that others have regarding my order proceeding through the system, but no allocation yet. This is for a White Sealion 7 Premium ordered end of March in Perth. However, today I noticed a change in my Account online. Whilst previously even though I had a purchase order as an email only, with my online Account just showing a Sealion 7 unconfigured (model with none of my selections applied), today I have notice the Account has gone from "View Configuration" to "View Order" This now shows all my selections and matches my purchase order. It looks like it is progressing slowly.

I am a bit overwhelmed by all the tax related questions since the budget, so I apologise if this has already been asked.

If I buy shares on August 1st 2026, for example, and sell them August 1st 2028, I understand that they will be taxed based on a combination of the old and new tax regimes, based on their purchase cost, the market value at opening on 1st July 2027 and the indexation rates of 1st July 27 and 1st August 2028 and the sale price. But what discount applies to the capital gain prior to 1st July 2027? Does that qualify for the 50% discount because the shares were ultimately held for more than a year, or is there no discount because the shares were held for less than a year when under the old regime?

I received another email from BYD today. I ordered a Sealion 7 Premium (Perth dealer) at the end of March. I had already received an email last Tuesday that others have posted here, the main difference I see between this an the last, which may be or not be significant is:

Previous email: Great news! Your order is active and moving smoothly through our allocation process.

Today's email: Great news, your order is secured and positioned for upcoming allocation as vehicles become available.

Secured seems a lot stronger than active, so I am hoping my discount still applies*.*
