TROPICANA Antigua STAY?

Not interested in hearing about the hike with them, but experiences staying at the hostel.

I know it's a 'party' hostel, but beyond that, how is the cleanliness of the bathrooms, are all the dorms difficult to sleep in due to noise? Bed bug issues? any planned daily events? what's the maximum days you would stay at this place? Other details welcome!

Thank you.

Lake Atitlán Christmas GUAtemala

Looking for some suggestions of where to be for Christmas Eve on Lake Atitlán. I'm unsure if there are fireworks in the evening like on NYE, but if there are,

  1. which hostels have good rooftop view of the neighbouring fireworks
  2. are there even any celebrations that happen on the eve? or do most people stay home cozy and the celebrations happen on the 25th or on NYE instead?
  3. If there really aren't any December 24 (eve) celebrations, should I just plan to do normal itinerary things instead?

Please feel free to write as descriptively as you want :) more info the better. Cheers!

Airport Overnight Question!

Hi folks,

This is not me asking which will be more comfortable, but rather if what I'm wondering is even possible. I don't mind toughing it out for 6 hours if I don't need to walk in the dark or stress about missing flights/shuttles (it's just how I am lol).

I will be arriving late at night but will take a shuttle around 6am and don't think it's worth it (to me, personally) to book a hotel room.

I'm wondering: Is there anywhere to sit/lay overnight inside La Aurora whether in arrivals, departures, or a cafeteria area, that is open overnight and won't be a problem for airport workers?

Someone said that they don't let you into the actual airport (not even to the check-in counters) if you don't have a flight to catch? is this true? Anyway! just hoping for some answers to my main question. Thank you!!!

Antigua Weather

Wondering what the weather is like (celsius) in mid-late December during the holidays, specifically in Antigua. Rain? Wind?
