Metin2 Unreal Engine - Take part of the Community

Metin2 in Unreal Engine — Built for Everyone, Shaped by the Community

This project isn't just about bringing Metin2 into Unreal Engine.

It's about making it accessible to as many players as possible while building it together with the community.

One of my main goals is to ensure the game can run smoothly even on low-end PCs, just like the original Metin2 did for so many players. Better graphics should never come at the cost of excluding people from playing.

The project has been in development since 2023, with the objective of preserving the original gameplay, mechanics, and feeling while taking advantage of Unreal Engine's modern technology.

But this isn't a project I want to build alone.

I've opened a Discord server where everyone is welcome to join, whether you're a veteran player, a server owner, a developer, or simply someone who loves Metin2.

The idea is to grow the project day by day together with the community:

-Share ideas and suggestions

-Discuss game mechanics

-Give feedback

-Help shape future features

-Follow development as it happens

Every opinion is valuable, and community feedback will play an important role in the direction of the project.

If you'd like to be part of the journey, you're more than welcome to join us.

What features or improvements would you like to see in a faithful Unreal Engine version of Metin2 while keeping the spirit of the original game?

Metin2 Unreal Engine

This Isn't a Metin2 Remake — It's Metin2 Running Inside Unreal Engine 🔥

Most "Metin2 Unreal Engine" projects you've seen simply import the game's old assets into Unreal and build a new experience around them.

This is not that.

For over 3 years, since 2023, I've been working on a much more ambitious goal: bringing the original Metin2 engine and systems into Unreal Engine while preserving the authentic gameplay experience that players remember.

This project is not a visual remake, a reinterpretation, or an emulation. The goal is to keep the original game logic, mechanics, systems, and behavior intact while benefiting from everything Unreal Engine has to offer.

A lot of you have been asking in the comments about performance, FPS drops, and optimization. The attached video is my direct response. It showcases the actual in-game performance, proving that we can achieve modern, smooth rendering even on low-end PCs, exactly as demonstrated in the footage.

What makes this project different: ✅ Original game systems faithfully preserved ✅ Gameplay behavior matching the original experience ✅ Deep integration into Unreal Engine (not an emulation) ✅ Modern rendering, lighting, tools, and scalability ✅ Optimized to run smoothly even on low-end PCs

Thousands of hours have gone into reverse engineering, engine integration, optimization, and testing to ensure the result remains as faithful as possible to the original game.

The vision is simple: "Play the Metin2 you remember, powered by Unreal Engine."

I'm sharing development updates, screenshots, technical insights, and future plans on our Discord server. 💬 Discord: [https://discord.gg/stormrealm]

I'd love to hear what veteran Metin2 players think about this approach. What is the one thing that should never change in a modern version of Metin2?
