She's complete

She's complete

It took me from April 4, 2026 to just now August 18, 2026. I feel like this journal took a longer time, but it was only a month longer than my usual. I think it's because I took more breaks. My next journal is coming today, and I'm ready to start writing in it because I feel like I don't spend enough time writing, to be honest. It is my constant companion.

Book and podcast recommendations

I was listening to a YouTuber for recommendations on books to read and podcasts to listen to on my weight loss journey for ways to help me learn about how to eat and what to do. Here are a few that she shared with me. Do you have any to add to the list?

Books:

The dbt solution for emotional eating

Transforming the living legacy of trauma

Don't believe everything you feel

Don't believe everything you think

The body liberation project

Just a thought

Mindless eating

Beyond the binge

Podcasts:

Half size me- on Youtube

---

I like half size me because I can put it on at night, and it's like it helps me come up with a game plan on how to do 1 percent better in my weight loss journey, like brain storming the excuses I make, and how I can combat them. It's proving to be really helpful.

Working on self belief

I'm reading The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F**k by Mark Manson and I thought these were an interesting introduction to the book.

It's like affirmations and manifestation affirm what is already, and that's part of self belief, that I am the things I want, and that I have to detach from these things lest I hungrily chase them and believe that I lack them instead of being what I feel on the inside.

I think there's this idea that I have to look a certain way, but I don't mind aging gracefully at 40, and I noticed crow's feet for the first time today. I thought that a younger me would try to get rid of them, but to me it's part of my grace and charm of getting older. My sister said "it beats the alternative", and i laughed.

I'm more into manifesting things like world peace, peace in my family, abundance for my family, financial stability, a home to have and raise children, healthy body. Those are the things I want for myself above all else as beauty is only skin deep.

So, I am attempting to do 75 hard again, and a big aspect of that is sticking to a diet. My diet is a 1500 calorie diet, which is appropriate for my age, height, and target weight set to me by my personal trainer.

The only problem is that I live with my parents (I moved out of my apartment back in with my family to save for a house) and I don't control my food anymore, and there's a lot of temptation with things like a snack cabinet with cakes and cookies and things.

I thought about combating it by putting fruit in the cabinet so when I open the cabinet, I want to reach for something healthy. I also thought about buying my own healthy snacks that my family might not be interested in such as protein bars and chips, and having those on hand for myself.

But what do I do when my family buys a pizza or orders takeout or cooks an unhealthy meal that messes with my meal plan? What do I do? What can I do? I feel like I'm struggling so bad because my family is not healthy at all.
