Finally an iPad case with a built-in hand strap — no more putting it down because your hand gave out

If you've ever had to put your iPad down mid-session because your hand was cramping, you're not alone — and we built something specifically for this.

We started by making an ergonomic strap for Kindle and Kobo readers that lets you hold your device with one finger for hours. It took off and now 300,000+ people use them. So we spent two years applying the same idea to iPad.

The Strapsicle iPad Case has our patented XO-strap built right into the case, so you can hold your iPad comfortably through long sessions without gripping, cramping, or having to prop it up. It also has an origami multi-angle cover, a built-in Apple Pencil holder, and interchangeable straps you can swap in seconds.

We just launched on Kickstarter and already hit our first funding goal! Now we're pushing to $20,000 to unlock the Aqua collector color. Would love the support from this community if it sounds useful to you:

Anyone else struggle to hold their iPad for long sessions? We built a case specifically for this!

If you've ever had to put your iPad down mid-session because your hand was cramping, there's finally a case built around that exact problem.

A bit of background: a few years ago we made an ergonomic strap for Kindle and Kobo readers that lets you hold your device with one finger for hours without any hand strain. It caught on with a lot of people in the accessibility and assistive tech community and now 300,000+ people use them.

We spent two years applying the same concept to iPad. It's a full case with a patented XO-strap built in so you can hold your iPad comfortably for long sessions without gripping, cramping, or propping it up on something.

We just launched on Kickstarter and hit our first funding goal, so it's happening. Right now we're working toward our $20,000 stretch goal to unlock an Aqua collector color. If this sounds like something that would help you or someone you know, we'd love your support!

Happy to answer any questions about how the strap works or who it's designed for.

We launched - how do I effectively retarget our page followers?

Our kickstarter reached its goal in 12 hours, which is cool, but now I want to know how I can try and retarget everyone following our page.

Do I just keep sending out messages with new updates and incentives to people who haven't backed us yet?

How do you guys think competition could go? Is that something I should try?

I'm thinking of giving away an iPad because our product is an iPad case.

Any other low-cost ideas? 30% of our kickstarter followers have backed our campaign, so this is obviously a strong audience to try and get the most juice out of.

How long should my KS campaign run for?

We're about to launch on Wednesday, and we have our campaign period set for 4 weeks. But I am already exhausted hyping this up!!

Thinking 3 weeks could be the sweet spot - but keen to hear more experienced opinions!

And shipping costs - do they have a big impact on conversions? We have warehouses in US / AU - I'm thinking of doing free ship for US & AU. $10 shipping for rest of world (we can do this from our warehouse in Asia)

We made the viral Kindle strap used by 300,000+ readers. Now we've built an iPad case. Launching Kickstarter May 19.

Strapsicle started with a simple problem - holding a Kindle for an hour without your hand cramping. We built a patented ergonomic strap that slips onto your e-reader so you can hold it with one finger. 300,000+ Kindle and Kobo readers later, we decided it was time to take that same idea and build it properly for iPad.

We've spent two years on this. 29 prototypes. The result is what we genuinely believe is the world's best iPad case:

- Patented XO ergonomic strap built in - no cramping, no fatigue, no dropping

- Origami cover that folds to portrait, landscape, or angled - and detaches completely

- Built-in Apple Pencil holder

- Interchangeable straps - swap colours in seconds

- Available for iPad mini and iPad A16

We were at CES this year and soft-launched to 700 journalists - the result was overwhelmingly positive. We launch on Kickstarter May 19. Early bird backers get 30% off on day one.

4 days to go until we launch! What should we be doing?

I'm really starting to get nervous! I want our launch day to be an explosion! We have 320 page followers (hoping we'll hit 500), and nearly 1000 wait list sign ups through our own email list.

Does anyone have any last minute advice on tactics to ensure a strong launch day? How many followers to the page signals to Kickstarter we are 'one to watch'?

Thank you!

How do you hold your iPad mini for long sessions? Hand fatigue is a real thing and we built something to fix it.

We're Strapsicle - we make the ergonomic straps that go around the back of Kindle and Kobo e-readers so you can hold them comfortably for hours. The whole idea came from our founder dropping her Kindle on her baby while breastfeeding at 3am.

We've just spent two years applying the same concept to a full iPad case - with our patented XO-strap built in, an origami multi-angle cover, and a built-in Apple Pencil holder. For iPad mini & the A16 specifically.

So we are curious - how does everyone here actually hold their iPad for long periods? Case, caseless, propped up? Do you get hand fatigue? We'd love to hear what the community does.

Launching on kickstarter next week - reBacker are legitimate?

Hello - we are launching our world first iPad cases next week on Kickstarter, and I've had an email reach out from ReBacker with some decent-looking rates for promotion in their newsletter.

Just wondering if anyone has worked with them and if they are legitimate.

Thanks! Lou

Hi! I'm Lou, founder of Strapsicle and we're about to launch our new ipad cases on Kickstarter. These are a world first - they have a number of amazing benefits for ipad users not seen in a single device before!  But we live in a vacuum and I'm keen to get ipad users feedback.

Our case (we are up to version 29 can you believe it!?) includes -

  • Ergonomic straps to help you hold the device comfortably for longer
  • A detachable cover
  • Origami fold to allow for landscape or portrait use
  • A pencil clasp so you never lose it!

We would love all and any feedback on this device, if you'd use it, any thoughts on the design etc. We are launching on Kickstarter in 2 weeks!

We are launching in 2 weeks, our new 'world-first' iPad case. I am a bit biased but I feel that there are so many great features, it will standout as a novel product.

However I'm not naive :) we were going to do a 20% discount for the first 100 cases, but now I'm thinking we should go deeper - 30% off - but maybe just the first 50?

In your experience, should we go deep, or would 20% be enough?

Our case has these removable straps, a removable cover, a pencil strap, origami cover fold..

We are launching our first Kickstarter in under three weeks, and I'm really keen to make some of our existing community affiliates heart spread the word. I'd love to know from people who've done this before: what type of commission did you organise, and did you do it yourself directly or did you use an existing platform?

We're thinking of doing it direct and offering the affiliate commission as a net return after fees and discounts, but is that going to be acceptable to affiliates? Also, is it as simple as just creating individual tracking links in the backend, and what kind of commission do you think they would expect? We're thinking 5% at this stage, possibly 10% for larger backers. Our product price point starts at $69.99 USD, but we are doing discounts, obviously, for early birds.

This is our product - no doubt a crowded category!
