Hi all,

Flying LH412 MUC–EWR in Business on the A350-900 with the new Allegris cabin in October. My wife has Senator status and has been upgraded to a Suite once before on another route.

Question for the community: should we go ahead and select our Business seats now, or hold off and hope for an upgrade to a Suite (or at least a better Business seat) closer to departure/at check-in?

A few things I'm trying to figure out:

• Does selecting seats early lock us out of upgrade eligibility, or does LH still consider you regardless?
• Any recent experiences with Allegris upgrades on MUC–EWR specifically, especially on the A350-900? Timing (when it typically clears), and whether Senator alone is enough or if it's more of a HON/random thing?

I've seen a few upgrade success stories here already, curious how people are approaching the seat selection timing strategically.
