Hello,

I have been wanting to go on an exchange year for a year now, but when I brought it up to my parents, they said that it's too expensive, which I understand. Now, I'm starting my upper secondary school here in Finland and the clock is kind of ticking.

I have a few friends over in the US that could potentially host me, and I could make a visa. The county that my friend lives in accepts international students. Can I do all the paperwork on my own or am I required to have a program to study in a US High School?
