“i don't think anyone is right about ariana grande”- please watch this video for a very NUANCED take on this heartbreaking situation

“having a disease is morally neutral”

period.

how can you acknowledge that an ED is a DISORDER and a disease, and then at the same time say people with the condition are being vain?

“thinspo” isn’t this dark underbelly of ill intentions to give bad influence, it’s a cry for fucking help. it makes me so disgusted to see people say “she knows what she’s doing” - like you’re talking about a real human being who is very clearly NOT WELL.

everyone wants to act like they’re advocating for mental health but then refuse to read a fucking book. learn what the fuck you’re talking about. anorexia is a social disease. there are already decades of research on this.

this is a condition of compulsive behaviors that becomes addictive. DID YOU KNOW, that anorexia isn’t ALWAYS tied to body image? what about the anorexic grieving mother that stopped eating after her second miscarriage and then got stuck in an obsessive cycle of avoiding food due to delusions stemming from the miscarriage?

as someone with OCD myself, the comorbidity/overlap of OCD and disordered eating is very high.

my point here is that the psychology behind EDs is very complex.

and when it comes to recovery, you can’t just force it upon someone. the same way you can’t force an addict to go to rehab, or at least STAY in recovery.

i understand the influence one of the biggest pop star’s body has on young kids. i understand the anger. but this IS a societal issue. directing this anger towards ariana however, as if SHE’s responsible… is not the answer.

remember that two things can be true at once:

1. this is horrible and heartbreaking on the influence of society and very triggering to see for those already vulnerable.

AND

2. this is horrible and heartbreaking for ariana grande and a very scary and difficult situation to watch someone with so many eyes on them go through.

unfortunately, the truth is that there really is no RIGHT WAY to have this discussion. we are all just flawed humans simultaneously experiencing the human condition. there doesn’t have to be a “good guy” and a “bad guy”, or some online battle of morality. some things just suck. some things just are. and we all suffer from it.

i hope that ariana grande gets through whatever she’s going through and is okay. not as a fan, but as a human being.

empathy and kindness IS the answer.

we had a “st. bernadoodle” come in the other day…

new client, wrote that down for the breed name. i had to explain to the them that i have to enter it into our system as a mix bc “st. bernadoodle” literally isn’t even listed as an option 🙄🙄🤣

i’m gonna jump off a bridge lmao
