PCX150 is enough for me. Question for larger/faster riders as the end..

I have a need for speed when it comes to snowboarding and mountain biking/road biking. When it comes to being on the road on a motorized scooter I don’t seem to want to go faster than the PCX will allow (about 60mph/100kmph). There are times when I want to pass a vehicle and I wish I could zap 15-20mph faster around it when I’m already going 50-55mph, but can’t pick up the acceleration and top speed to safely pass. I don’t enjoy riding top speed on hwys and absolutely I don’t want to be on an interstate even on a full blown motorcycle. It’s basically loud, holding on for dear life, and knowing one teeny tiny error can lead to sudden death.

In America it has to always be biggest and fastest and so scooter riding, even at 60mph, is seen as wimpy and fag*y. So, even though I ride two wheels and hit the scenic parkways and backroads I still feel like a wimp, even though I’m out there seeking the same two-wheeled enjoyment as my fellow 800cc+ loud as a rocket 130mph companions.

When you see a scooter charging along at 60mph do you think it’s silly? Does the scooter stance look silly and not big or loud or cool enough? Do you think “what a pus*y?”

Stop painting buildings black and white. Especially historic buildings.

This “Modern Farmhouse” takeover of Knoxville is getting out of control. Black and white looks like Jesus cried all the color out of himself.

We need more color. We need more fruit cakes in this world. I can’t take it anymore, and I’m mad as hell!

Displaying flags to show support?

I’m white, straight, 35, and I’ve been dealing with intolerant a-holes my whole life (I know intolerance is everywhere, there’s just more of an open-airness about it here. People will literally say the most intolerant sh*t to me at my work once they get comfortable with me. Like dude, I don’t even know you? Why do you think I agree with any of that very triggering and aggressive sh*t you just confided to me?). I also live near the city center, so not suburban or rural, pretty mixed overall. Anyways, if I was the brunt of this Intolerance (which I’m not, see self-description above) I could imagine it would be mentally and emotionally hard day to day to live where the culture and policy-makers don’t really have your back.

Purely for the sake of support I want a flag pole at my house. I want to display the America Flag (which some of my family will probably see as weird 🤷‍♂️). I want to display a pride flag during pride month, I want to display an [insert unknown appropriate flag here] flag for Black History Month, I want to display an AA flag occasionally (this can personally relate to), I want to show my support to groups and causes throughout the year. I want to display flags of countries I’ve been to on their important days as a good gesture for the experience and friendliness they showed me while visiting. If someone feels unwelcome, scared, or ostracized, I want them to know they have allies. I want them to know they are a part of the community and they belong here, and without them this city would be a plain, christian, whitewashed buckees gas station where everyone drives a 14 ton mega-rancher hauler truck to simply get around town (sorry if I offended anyone it’s just kind of a stereotype. I also think it’s fair to gently poke the vast, white, cultural, influential, and economic majority of this town without them getting riled up, but we’ll see).

We’re talking a legit flagpole. Not one of those little porch arms.

So, should I do it?

Was there a tornado in NOLA?

Driving on I-10 right when the tornado warning (tornado spotted or rotation spotted on radar) alert came on my phone. There was lightning everywhere really intense and close, I mean all over the place, an unusual amount of lightning. Were there high damaging winds or an actual tornado? This would have been downtown/ downtown west.

Go to THE DISTRICT bar if you’re visiting NOLA and want to watch the World Cup

I had trouble finding a great bar near downtown to watch World Cup soccer while I was here for a few days. Stumbled across “the district” bar on the corner of Tchoupitoulas/ Notre Dame. GREAT SPOT to watch. Not too grungy/dive, plenty of TV’s. Nice open atmosphere.

If you’re visiting and looking for a spot to watch go to THE DISTRICT bar.

Early morning MSY airport travel options.

I have a flight tomorrow morning Thursday 18th at 7:45am. The RTA bus schedule says it leaves from Loyola/Howard(downtown) to the airport at 5:30am. Is this generally accurate? Also, is arriving at security around 6am enough time for a 7:45am flight? In my experience for a large airport this is usually enough time…

Thanks y’all. Love your town. Will forever be coming back.

N/A beer options in NOLA

Visiting for 3 nights. I have been to NOLA many times and am fairly familiar. Only difference this time is I don’t drink anymore, but I love N/A beers. This question is regarding N/A BEER only, not mocktails, seltzers, etc. staying near downtown and don’t have a car. Can ride-share or taxi as needed.

Any local breweries with house-made N/A’s? These are hard to find. Any restaurants/ bars with a good selection? Any bottle shops that sell a good selection 6packs or single N/A’s?

I can walk into most places and get the standard Athletic or Sierra Nevada N/A’s, so I’m already aware of those options.

Thanks for your help! Love your city (probably my favorite). From Knoxville, TN. Here for a conference.
