Is an ollee watch a good choice for someone only interested in counting steps and wanting a hardy resin watch?

I currently have a Timex iron man watch that's water resistant up to 100m. I only use it for the time, but wanted something this heavy duty so I can use it for literally everything.

I have no interest in a smart watch, EXCEPT that I would really love the ability to track my steps for Pokemon GO. I don't need any other monitors except step counting and a bluetooth connection to my phone. I've seen people on here say their olleewatch is inaccurate with step counting and adds steps for just arm movements and I'd happily take those inaccuracies because my goal isn't to actually track if I'm being active, it's to hatch more eggs when I'm running around at work and can't have my phone on me.

On the surface moding a resin Casio with ollee watch hardware appears like it could satisfy my needs--except from what I've seen the tested Casio models aren't as water resistant.

I've been seeing ads for Freestyle watches and they appear to have the water resistance and hardy design elements I'm looking for, but idk if the olleewatch chip could work in any other watch faces.

Share any input as to whether an ollee watch could work for me and if you think I should try and mod a Freestyle watch.

The suitcase itself including the wheels is 22x14x9 if the expander is zipped closed. However, the padded fabric handle on top that holds its shape cause its padded adds another 1/2-1 inch or so. The handle is completely compressible, but would need to be held down and I want to know if this will be an issue to use it as a carry on.

I flew on Frontier, Jet Blue, and Southwest with the suitcase as a carry on a year ago, but worry that that it could be an issue now because airlines are cracking down.
