Wood stuff

Most of what I do with this stuff is C- at best but I find it satisfying and I believe that with each attempt I learn how to be more precise. Perhaps eventually I will eventually be on the level of those who have motivated and inspired me. This small white oak cutting board was stained ebony naturally with a steel wool and vinegar concoction.

It was a cool science experiment. Soak steel wool in vinegar for 24 hours. Steep through a coffee filter to remove fibers. Brush/wipe the filtered liquid onto the wood. Within moments the tannin reaction results in an ebony stain finish.
