Created a modern music player with Winamp skin support

I've been working on this project in my spare time for a while now: NEXTAMP, a music player for Android that I originally built for myself.

I wanted one place to listen to music from my home server (Jellyfin and WebDAV via Nextcloud), download music for offline listening, listen to ad-free internet radio, and keep up with podcasts.

While working on the design, I started thinking about Winamp. I loved it as a kid, especially the custom skins and the overall UX. It made me nostalgic, so I decided to bring some of that experience to Android.

NEXTAMP uses the original .wsz skin format, and I created my own skin for it.

I've been using the app myself for months, and it became stable enough that some friends asked if they could get it too. So I decided to publish it on Google Play.

It's completely free, with no ads, tracking, or analytics.

I'm not trying to change the world of music players or compete with every other app out there. I just built something I wanted to use and thought someone else might enjoy it too.

It's probably not for everyone, and that's fine. If you like the idea, have suggestions, or want to contribute, feel free to reach out! 🙂

I built a private-first email app that integrates with Nextcloud | looking for a few testers

Hi all, Nextcloud user here, sharing something I built to scratch my own itch (mods, happy to remove if not allowed).

I was looking for a while for an ad-free, private (no-backend), Nextcloud/PrivatCloud integrated email client with "in place" translation and a good UI, and I couldn't find one. So I built it.

I'm an old dev, with 20+ years behind me and now with AI at my fingertips I believed I could do better that what we had so far, so here is what I built:

  • Nextcloud integration: save, attach, view or edit files via your own Nextcloud and web office (WebDAV + app password, stored only on-device).
  • No backend: mail goes directly between device to server. no analytics, no trackers, nothing.
  • In-place translation: via your own self-hosted LibreTranslate.
  • Any IMAP/SMTP account (Gmail oauth): unified inbox.
  • Privacy features: like remote images blocked by default, hardened sanitized HTML
  • A clean UI (in my opinion)

There is more to come but I need more help, built on react native with Expo, i used claude design and claude code (I did look at some of the code) and for now only on android (Not willing to pay for apple's dev account).

It's in closed beta. Google requires 12 testers opted in for 14 days before I can go public, so I'm looking for a few people who'd find this genuinely useful to try it and tell me what's broken or missing.

Please joint the tester group:

I'll need your email and a small intro and I will add you the play testers list reach out via PM or on the Discord channel https://discord.gg/mK2tS9Fvb (just created for this purpose)

After I'll add you you just Install from Google Play, connect a mailbox (app password / IMAP) whatever you feel comfortable with.

[EDIT]
I got a lot of comments about open sourcing, it's coming, I'll have to audit the code to make sure I don't expose anything and sort licensing first.
[EDIT-2]
App passed publishing overview, here is the download link for approved testers

[END-EDIT]

Please reach out if you have any question

Bought and customized Ikea BRÄNNBOLL gaming station to house a standing table and looking for accessories.

Does anyone know or have experience with accessories to to hang on the back grid?

Due to the big display and the bulky arm I cannot fit the shelfs behind, especially when is standing mode the display reach all the to the ceiling (1cm gap) and the monitor arm needs a lot of room. to accommodate for the big arm I create a cutout on the table top as the arm need to be able to extend backward beyond the table.
Even if I"ll replace the monitor arm with a flat design I will still not be able to fit shelfs back there.

I looks at the SKÅDIS series and specifically this
https://www.ikea.com/de/de/p/skadis-befestigungsbeschlag-weiss-10320789/
The idea was to create small shelves on the sides for speakers and other stuff and leave the center clear for the monitor arm.

I could not find info if the SKÅDIS system fit the back grid of the BRÄNNBOLL.

Thank you all in advance. let me know if you have any questions.
