don't mean this as a knock on him genuinely. We graduated the same year, same field, he never had a LinkedIn, never optimized his resume, applied to like 12 jobs total. Got an offer in week 6. I have been at this for 4 months, LinkedIn completely filled out, resume through 3 different review services, 200+ applications. I know this is survivorship bias and networking and luck and a lot of other things. I know. But sitting with this feels bad. Is it all just who you know at the end of the day

my mom walked in on me and now thinks im not straight im dying ,so this just happened and i actually want to disappear

im 19f and my best friend came over we were supposed to study but obviously we didnt we were just talking and eating and being stupid

then she spilled juice all over her shirt so she was like ill just wear one of yours and i said okay fine

but then her shirt got stuck like actually stuck on her head idk how but it wouldnt come off and she was panicking and laughing at the same time so i was helping her pull it off

we were both like struggling and laughing and probably looked so dumb

AND THEN MY MOM WALKED IN

like the worst timing possible

from her angle it probably looked so bad like we were really close and tangled and my friend literally had her shirt halfway off her face

we all just froze

no one said anything

then my mom just slowly closed the door and left

which is honestly worse than yelling

now shes acting so weird like being extra nice and asking me random things like you can tell me anything and im like ???? what do you think happened

i tried explaining but it just sounds fake even to me

my friend is so embarrassed she doesnt even want to come back

so yeah now my mom probably thinks ive been hiding something my whole life because of one stupid shirt

i hate it here
