Sometimes the “Too Good To Be True” situation is… TRUE
My score of the year!!
Took a shot in the dark at a Facebook marketplace listing by someone with no profile picture, no Facebook friends, and no other items for sale other than this 1 ad for a Pioneer SX-780 for $50. I see these kind of ads from time to time and it’s usually some kind of scam or prank. After 24 hours of no response I stopped thinking about it and went on with my life but then he messaged me back the next morning with the line they all say “lots of interest, better come quick”. But I was at work and wouldn’t be able to make it to him (70 min drive each way from me). I told him I wouldn’t be able to meet until later that night and expected someone else to scoop it up, but shockingly he said “see you then”. I show up there and I’m pleasantly surprised to meet an extremely nice older gentleman who just doesn’t use Facebook that much and wanted to move some of his old gear at extremely good prices. I originally only went there for the 780 for $50 but then he offered the rest of his gear for another $50 and couldn’t resist. This is the rundown
• Pioneer SX-780 Receiver
• Pioneer PL-300 Turntable with Empire 7000/V cartridge
• Harman Kardon HD7450 CD player
• Fisher XP-7C speakers
All in great working and cosmetic condition (sans speaker cabinets)
Already have the 780 hooked up and it’s a huge upgrade from my 550. Happy hunting!!
