Dolos is not merely Liege Maximo’s servant he is the living embodiment and primary instrument of Maximo’s lies. While Liege Maximo creates the grand deceptions (the overarching philosophies, false histories, and cosmic-scale manipulations), Dolos breathes life into them. He is the one who makes Maximo’s lies believable, desirable, and contagious.
Their bond is ancient, forged at the dawn of creation when Primus shaped both the Primes and their Retainers. Dolos was specifically crafted to perfectly complement Maximo’s nature where the Prime of Lies weaves intricate webs of falsehood from the shadows or from behind his refined aristocratic face ,Dolos walks into the light as the golden messenger who delivers those lies with charm, elegance, and conviction.

Liege Maximo teaches that truth is weak its rigid, limited, and easily broken. Lies, however, are fluid, adaptable, and can reshape reality itself. Dolos internalized this so completely that he no longer sees any meaningful difference between truth and falsehood only what serves their cause.
Dolos views every lie he tells as an extension of Maximo’s will. He has said in ancient records:
“My voice is but an echo of my Sovereign’s first deception. When I speak, it is Liege Maximo who is truly speaking through a more… palatable face.”
Maximo, in turn, sees Dolos as his finest creation proof that deception does not always need to be monstrous. Dolos represents the refined evolution of Maximo’s power: the lie that does not need to intimidate because it can seduce.

Liege Maximo appears in his elegant, refined default form (tall, aristocratic, commanding yet calm). He plants the seeds of great lies new ideologies, rewritten histories, or false prophecies.
Dolos then steps forward as the Herald. His radiant gold and silver form, warm charisma, and sincere-sounding words make those lies irresistible. Victims often feel honored to be deceived by such a noble figure.
The Pretender Contrast
When raw force or terror is required, Maximo dons his monstrous green G2 Pretender shell. Dolos remains in his shining form, creating cognitive dissonance in enemies: “How can something so beautiful serve something so terrifying?” This psychological fracture is one of their most effective weapons.

The Gift of Deception
Maximo personally infused Dolos with a fragment of his own spark essence. This grants Dolos an almost instinctive understanding of Maximo’s intentions. Dolos can improvise complex lies on the fly that perfectly align with Maximo’s larger schemes without needing direct orders.

Dolos’s loyalty is absolute, yet he possesses a quiet superiority complex. He believes he is the better face of their shared power the lie that wins without needing to reveal the monster beneath. Maximo tolerates and secretly encourages this pride, as it fuels Dolos’s excellence. However, Maximo occasionally reminds Dolos of his place with subtle, cutting remarks, ensuring the Retainer never forgets who the true architect is.

His stealing addiction lead to him becoming one of Cybertron’s best thieves. After stealing the phase shifter his grafted it to his arm in fear that it would be stolen back.

Hornet was Bumblebee’s first decepticon takedown , during one of his scouting missions he was tasked with gaining info on a decepticon who was targeting out new recruits in an effort to lower the numbers of autobot adversaries.

Bumblebee was told not to engage,but was found by Hornet. Scared and aware of the things Hornet has done to other bots, he was faced with the option of fight or flight

He knew trying to evade and escape Hornet was a hopeless effort , so he fought.

After a long and drawn out fight, Bumblebee managed to emerge victorious, instead of killing Hornet he brought him in and was praised for his courage beginning Bumblebee’s journey as the famous bot he became

Years later there was a riot that lead to a prison break to be caused , during the chaos Hornet managed to escape and after years of revenge plotting he had a new vendetta

I always saw Hotshot as Hotrod’s little brother

I always think of Hotshot as Hotrods little brother
