Season 5 Episode 2

First time watcher of the series and just watched S5 Ep2. This is just an appreciation post.

One of the best things about older shows with 15+ episodes per season is that you get those episodes that add to the plot but are so unserious.

Loved the episode. The first few minutes where the facial recognition was a problem was hilarious. Gave the cast a chance to take a dig at each other's characters and show their range.

And then there were other really funny moments throughout the episode.

On a more serious note, it allowed us to truly appreciate The Machine and how uniquew it is.

I'm just so amazed at the writing of this series. I can't understand why it's not more popular.

Just watched S4 E11

First time watcher of this series and am just amazed at the quality of it. Just finished season 4 episode 11.

The last shot of ep 9 (The Devil You Know) where Elias walked alone on the path after warning Reese and Finch to stay out of his way when he takes revenge was so asthetically brilliant.

Episode 11 (If-Then-Else) is my favourite episode so far. It had amazing cinematography throughout and was like watching a movie quality sequence.

The last scene especially was so gripping. The slow mo gun discharging, bullets hitting the ground, Shaw getting hit, Root screaming. Absolute cinema!

I did not see Shaw die so hoping there is a way she's still alive. The Machine gave her 0.00005% possiblity I think. It's not an absolute 0!

On a side note, The Machine absolutely called it the timing of Shaw and Root. And I never thought I'd be so happy to see a drawing survive!

Why isn't the quidditch league a natural career path for Hogwarts players?

Ron was quidditch mad and was a huge Chudley Connons supporter. Harry started following the league as well and the 2 used to talk about quidditch alot.

In GoF, Harry was surprised the other schools existed. If he followed quidditch surely they would talk about the players which means the other players had to come from elsewhere in Britain.

Yes there are other schools but with Hogwarts being so big in Britain, majority of the players in the league should come from Hogwarts. But why then was Oliver Wood making Puddlemere United such a big thing?

Where do the rest of the players come from and why isnt it a natural career path for Hogwarts players? With only 4 Hogwarts houses and 13 league teams, surely Hogwarts players are a shoe-in for the league.

I often wonder how Tom Riddle end up with that specific core

Fawkes is a light creature and a feathered companion to Dumbledore so it fascinates me that Tom, who Dumbldore was wary of from the moment he met him, ended up with Fawke's feather as his core.

The wand chooses the wizard so I wonder what the wand saw in 11 year old Tom Riddle that made it choose him.

I also wonder if Fawkes knows that Voldemort's wand has his feather.

What to do when you have a start and you know the end but you're struggling to connect the two?

I started my first ever fanfic over a year ago and have 13 chapters posted already. It's had pretty good feedback and people are asking about the rest but I'm struggling. I pretty much know how it is going to end but anything I come up with in the middle seems forced and doesn't match the flow of the previous 13 chapters. It seems like a completely different story.

I wrote other fanfics in the meantime and kept them to oneshots. Thought maybe it might get the creative juices flowing on the first fic but I got nothing.

I have tons of ideas for other fanfics but this first one is depressing me badly. I don't want to start another multi-chapter fic without finishing my first one.

If anyone has any ideas to get over my writers block for my first fanfic, I'd really appreciate it.

Sheep Detectives was a surprise gem

Watched this movie with my kids and had zero expectations. But man, did it blow us away. The kids were especially thrilled with it. Funny, emotional, great graphics.

Honestly we were surprised when Hugh got killed off so early. Kids complained that Wolverine can't be dead already, the movie barely started!

But that was one of the best things to happen since it let the true detectives shine.

Some very good lessons ran through the movie and got the kids asking good questions.

Loved it!
