2022 Polestar 2 Random Propulsion System Failure
Dual motor, performance pack.
Out of nowhere, had a random Propulsion System Failure.
It first occurred after driving to a local shop when I tried to reverse out of a parking spot. It's in single pedal drive. When I pressed the pedal, it moved a little bit, maybe 5 feet, and then the motor(s) locked up and chugged about 3-4 times within a second or two. It was like the motor controller(s) lost position tracking or reset.
Then I got a fault code for "Propulsion System" failure and entered limp mode.
The shuddering seemed to happen at near-zero speed, when reversing or driving in forward. It did not seem to happen above 5mph.
When I got home I attempted to read with Orbit, but upon doing so, it cleared the fault codes and I didnt get a capture.
Strangely, clearing the fault codes returned the vehicle to normal operation and I haven't had a problem since.
The only other abnormality that day is it was raining. But subsequent drives on rainy days haven't triggered the issue.
Is there any known issues with the propulsion system failing like this?
