vRS - Led ambient lighting option disappeared in the car menus

UPDATE: thanks for the help from people on here, it was oddly in the other menu where other people point out, what was odd as "background lighting" wasn't there as an icon and had disappeared, I reset to factory and it reappeared . I don't remember removing this so maybe an update glitch.

Still it should be under vehicle - interior

We have a very high spec vRS with all the options packs, until recently we could fully configure the LED lighting strips and change the colour . They also flashed red if someone tried to open the door and there was a car coming .

The car recently got a software update and it has now completely disappeared , in the mobile app it is now giving me the option to buy this....

Apple trying to increase the price of existing M5 max order

I ordered an M5 max with 128gb of memory through a reseller in the UK on June 5th.

The reseller is KRCS (A premium reseller in the UK)

Due to the size of the memory these are built to order and on back order , I had a delivery date of 31st July and already paid the full invoice.

Just received an email stating due to Apples price increase if I want to continue I need to pay the new price (despite having paid already).

The options they gave me were a) Pay the new price b) request a cancellation...

I can fully understand new orders but this is a joke for existing paid orders, I've told the reseller I expect a full refund immediately given they've changed the conditions of the contract.

I'm not sure if it's the reseller trying it on

I've now reached out to Apple on numerous channels (first by support and they confirmed this isn't something they would do) and now have reached out to the exec assistance channel to raise this for clarification (let's see if I hear back)

I've also asked the reseller to confirm their T&C's as it's not mentioned at all with regard to demanding price increases, they do however state orders need to be paid at the point of order which is what I have done

Cannot get over 130kwh on 350kw charger

Tried multiple times on different chargers ,battery optimised for higher speed charging . This is a 350kw Ionity charger , tried others but never seen North of 134kw

Battery is showing optimal temp (see photos).

This is on our vRS , no one else at the chargers . I expect it to slow down as it gets closer to the top but never seen a where near 185kw, started at 37%.

Just double checked Skoda and 185kw is the top rate

Any ideas? Nothing else I can optimise in the car settings wise

Consumption sweet spot in vRS

Hi All,

So I've been doing some testing with the car over the last month or so since we are in warmer temps 14-23 degrees in the UK.

I was previously struggling to get beyond 2.6miles/kwh consumption on average without being really heavy on the accelerator. I was mainly running in sport or customised driver mode (a mix of normal and sport)

Where I live in Exeter there are a lot of 20mph zones, typically average daily drives are between 20-40mph, leaving in "Normal mode" with use of the flappy paddles I can see around 3.3-4.1miles kw/h which is good IMO.

Going to sport mode or a customised version of normal mode drops these figures into the 2.6-3.2 miles kWh range

I've also found the sweet spot is definitely 20-50pmh with gentle acceleration, once you start going 55mph or motorway speeds i.e. 60-70mph and you take a bit hit, anything above and it drops hard which is fairly normal for EVs.

Given this, I'm just leaving it in Normal mode now and it appears. May or may not be useful but I wanted to balance out my precious criticism of the consumption, this may also helpmout new owners.

Mine is on the big optional wheels with the heat pump (not sure it's worth it tbh)

My27 updates for Elroq

I was just looking at software updates and the latest Elroq MY27 update receives quite a lot of good updates.

Things change in hardware that is always the way but as I was saying on another post about our Nov registered Elroq, to miss out on software updates creating a two tier platform shows exactly what VAG group get wrong compared to Tesla , our model Y always got software updates to bring new features .

The big and really important question gievnt hey are moving to a new car OS is what level of support will they give to existing cars, working in software I usually find it tends to decline very quickly once they've committed to a new platform

One pedal driving and redesigned OS that won't be a available in any model built in the last year is shocking especially given the Elroq was a new model anyway . Does anyone know if this is actually the case? I never understood why our Elroq doesn't truly come to a stop, surely this is just software and optimisation.

Fair play on the Frunk , I was moaning about how they should have one instead of something that resembles a 100cc engine in ours

What you will miss out on:

The MY27 production run introduces fundamental changes to both hardware and software:

New Infotainment Platform: A completely new Android-based OS with a redesigned UI, grid layout, and an in-car app store (for apps like Spotify and YouTube).

Hardware Additions: A 21-litre under-bonnet frunk, V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) charging, and a cooled 25W wireless charging pad.

Drivetrain Updates: Single-pedal driving functionality and LFP batteries for entry-level trims

EV range - Elroq vRS and others

Hi all,

After owning my vRS for 7 months I wanted to provide my views on range and general EV bits . We have around 3500 miles on the clock now.

Drove it through the dark of winter and was averaging around 170-200 miles with mixed driving in positive temps with heat pump, we all know how they behave in really cold temps.

Anyway driving recently in 15-28 degrees the range hasn't improved much, mainly motorway and a roads best I've seen is around 220, maybe 230-240 if I wanted to run the battery to zero. Typically a mix of 40/50/60 carriageways and motorways

WLTP figures are 330 which are always optimistic but to only achieve 2/3rds is poor IMO. With our Tesla we could achieve closer to their claimed WLTP figures

The thing that I've really noticed is the lack of pre conditioning/pre warming of the battery like Tesla, I think this is the cause of most of the issues . Usually you will lose 10-15% battery in the initial first 20 miles of the journey due to this.

Has anyone found a way to precondtion before a journey starts? This is where Tesla got this so right.

Software is rubbish after using a Tesla EV for 3 years, we have another Skoda superb from 7 years back and have had lots of Skoda's. They really haven't upped their game and it's just a cluttered mess and the mobile app leaves a lot to be desired.

If you've never used a well developed EV software platform you won't appreciate the difference.

I understand Rivian have been contracted to sort it out and they've written off $1.5 billion lost from their own bad software. 8 years back this was the norm, today bad software with lack of updates isn't acceptable.

I also hope they don't do what they usually do and only apply major software to brand new cars I.e.Elroq 27 version (usually hardware related).

Charging speeds have been okay but not great, around 135kw (never seen above ) at max at Ionity 350kw chargers (used around 20 times and sometimes the only one there). Roughly takes 20-25 mins to go from 35-40% to 80% (not awful especially if going for a comfort break and coffee)

This is due to the old platform described below.

I've been doing some research on this recently and the Elroq is built on a really old id.3 based battery platform, BMW/Merc etc have introduced 800v platforms that allow fast charging at up to 400kwh.

I also struggle to work out why it looks like I have an engine in the front of the car instead of a frunk, not a deal breaker but a modern EV shouldn't be designed like this.

The general car is overall really good with smooth power delivery and doesn't jolt like the Tesla did when you put your foot down, I also really like the manual control of regen on the flappy paddles, Tesla never had this . I also love the return of physical buttons and the generally clever things Skoda add to their cars.

Also loving our Hyper green colour with the 21" wheels now we've removed the aero rims, a lot of positive comments from people. Only thing missing was the a ikitu to add a panoramic roof or sunroof, why is this not avail5on the Elroq as an option?

I wouldn't buy another Tesla as many are moving past them and maintain the Skoda is better as a traditional car .

If today I was buying or leasing I would probably get the new ix3 or wait for the upcoming i3 , it's a different price bracket but far superior future proofed platform for a pure EV .

To sum up, a decent car but there are better out there if you are looking at it from the EV perspective. It may upset some but this is real world based on usage on a fully specced up vRS.

2.4 years to go and I will decide if I just pay off and keep or get a lease , EVs are great but ownership is risky given the still rapid evolution.

Would be good to get the view of fellow Elroq owners .
