Roughly 22% votes counted till 1 PM. My maths might not be 100% accurate but any reason for such slow counting by ECI?
Edit: adding the pdf links- pdi report and service history as the AI summary might be a bit biased to give me best points to get discount.
Original post:
Car noob here. So i am getting a 2022 VW Taigun Highline TSI 1.0 AT driven 58k KM for ₹9.5 lakh. Given that a new one will cost me ₹16 lakh on road this looked like an okish deal to me. The car felt nice to drive and the interiors were more comfortable than better than other 7-8 lakh used cars I checked.
BUT before making a deal i did a PDI and it turns out there has been a lot of repairs, repainting done, orvm and windshield was replaced as well. None of this was mentioned on spinny's listing. So I ordered a service report and here is the history according to claude ( i need AI help as i don't understand much car language).
Please give your opinion if it's a big RED FLAG or if the car is fine and i should use this ingo to get more discount. Following is the summary:
This is gold. The full OEM service history changes everything. Let me read it carefully.
🚨 What The Service History Reveals
Three separate accidents confirmed:
Accident 1 — July 2022 (3,530 km)
- Dicky (boot) repair + rear bumper replaced
- Insurance claim filed — barely 4 months old car ⚠️
Accident 2 — July 2025 (47,898 km)
- Hood repair, LH fender repair
- Front bumper NEW, grille NEW, spoiler NEW
- LH headlight AND foglamp NEW
- Full insurance claim — major front end hit ⚠️⚠️
Accident 3 — Jan 2026 (55,739 km)
- Windshield replaced — insurance claim filed ⚠️
Other Serious Flags
- Engine light glowing — reported twice (Mar 2025, Feb 2025)
- Driver seat automatically going down — recurring issue, reported 3 times
- AC not working — evaporator replaced Mar 2026
- Infotainment disconnecting — reported
- Silencer broken — hit itself, replaced
- Starter motor cable repaired
- Oxygen sensor replaced — twice
- Rear middle seatbelt not working properly — reported
- Dashboard noise — reported multiple times
What This Means
This is no longer a "minor accident history" car. This is a car that has:
- Been in 3 accidents in 4 years
- Had recurring electrical issues
- Had engine warning light on multiple occasions
- Had AC evaporator failure
- Had recurring seat malfunction
The Cars24 report said "minor accidental damage" — this history shows it's significantly more than minor.
Revised Final Recommendation
Walk away from this specific car.
At ₹9.49L this is not the right deal anymore. The service history reveals a pattern of problems — three accidents, recurring electricals, engine light, AC failure — that goes well beyond what both Spinny and Cars24 disclosed.
This is not the clean 1st owner well-maintained car it appeared to be. Your first car deserves better than this history.
Show this service history to the Spinny RM and demand either ₹8.25L or walk. If they say no — walk with confidence. You've done your homework better than 99% of used car buyers in India. 🙏
