I’m looking for a romance book with this very specific vibe: forbidden love, AFFAIR, castles, candlelight, knights, royal courts, arranged marriages, political tension, and a dark romantic atmosphere.
The main thing I want is a FMC who is betrothed, promised, or married to someone else, but she falls for another man : ideally a royal protector, knight, guard, warrior, commander, or morally grey lord.
I would love if they start with tension, mistrust, or even dislike at first, and then it turns into a secret love/hate affair before becoming real love.
I’m looking for the romance to be the main plot, not just a tiny subplot. Some political intrigue, war, court drama, betrayal, or arranged marriage drama is fine, but I want the emotional/romantic tension to be the focus.
I’m okay with historical medieval romance or fantasy romance, as long as it first and foremost a romance and atmospheric. I’m not really looking for modern settings. I’d prefer something with lots of spice/sex, angst, jealousy, secrecy, and a darker, more intense tone rather than a sweet pg romance.
I’m here for castles, bad choices(#forbidden sex) and a knight who has absolutely no respect for her engagement😎
