understanding ap questions

im taking the ap physics 1 make-up exam this friday and every time i practice i just mess up on the frqs bc im using the wrong equations? (like using a=r(alpha) instead of t=I(alpha) when asked to set up an equation for alpha) my problem isn't so much the material as it is recognizing what equations to use and when, and i was wondering if anyone had any tips

thank you in advance!!
