No call no show due to family death

I was supposed to work this morning 4-8:30. I did a NCNS (Unacceptable, I know) when I found out my brother was found dead at 2 am. I was inconsolable and I completely zoned out the fact I had to work. My SSV called me at 4:01 and I just let it ring. I eventually just locked myself in the bathroom and cried until I felt weak. I still haven’t responded to any coworkers or my sm. I’m debating on shooting my SM a text instead of calling her back because i’m genuinely in no mood to talk. How do I go about this? I have a perfect attendance record so I don’t care about getting a write up for this

Ready set go checklist

Is this shit heavily enforced at other stores or is my store just being rude cause ?? They expect us to fully stock everything behind bar and clean lobby and bathrooms and trash run all within 30 mins??? Like at least give me until peak??? Whoever comes in between 5-6 am is given the checklist and told they have 30 mins. After the shift comes back from lunch, she checks EVERYTHING and is so rude about it. Like im sorry I forgot to fill oatmeal toppings? But I got everything else? And my SM will literally refuse to run lunches unless ready set go is done

Reason for transfer

What is a good enough “corporate” reason to ask for a transfer? I want to change simply because my management isn’t good. I know I can’t say that to any of the interviewers which is why I’m looking for a good solid answer? Is distance between home & store a good option? I do live closer to the store i’d like to transfer to. The environment at my job is so bad and I need to leave. My manager is the type to take this personally up her ass so i’m just trying to play it safe. Any insight? My last transfer was because I moved across the country for school so I didn’t have to put much thought into a fake reason

Manager call out policy

My manager told us today that in order to call out of work, you must call the store and then call her personal cell? Is this right? I’ve never had to do this with any previous managers and just seems like a control thing to me
