is it possible my mouse killed her cage mates on purpose?

I had two mice who I believe were sisters. They were completely healthy and happy. The rescue I got them from told me they had two neutered males ready to bond with my girls. They settled in well and all four of them seemed happy. A couple weeks after getting the boys, my two girls got sick. I took them to the vet and they gave me eye ointment and antibiotics. One of the girls didn’t get past the first dose of medication, she passed away that night. My other girl hated taking her meds but she made a really quick recovery. It was just the baby boys and her now. A few days later I walked into my room and one of the boys had passed. I was flabbergasted because he didn’t show signs of illness at all. The other boy started looking pretty weak a few days later and I gave him antibiotics for a little bit. He got so much better and they looked healthy and happy. Then out of nowhere, even after having gotten better, my sweet boy passed. The only living mouse remaining is patient zero, the first girl to get sick and the only one to overcome it (with barely any medicine because she refused to take it). I was worried being alone was going to affect her, but she’s the happiest I’ve ever seen her. She’s more affectionate, playful, cuddly, and generally joyful. Is it possible she got rid of her roommates on purpose (kinda)?

I think she got sick from the stress of having two new guys in her space. It’s worth mentioning that the rescue took my girls in to bond them with the boys and they spent a few days out of their house. I was hesitant to let them take them, but I had never bonded mice and they reassured me that it would be better for them to take care of it. I think these changes definitely influenced their mood negatively. Either she got her sister sick or her sister also got sick from the stress. After she passed, my theory is that my little survivor started bullying her newfound enemies until they got so stressed they couldn’t take it anymore. I didn’t see any of this except for one time, when there were only her and one boy remaining, I saw her kinda jump at him. It might’ve been grooming, but it looked a little too aggressive. He got a little scratch by his eye, and I think she might’ve been doing that. Is this possible? She’s genuinely the happiest I’ve ever seen her now that she’s an only child, and I can’t help but think she might be a bit of a serial killer. I love her as she is, psychopathy and all.

two of my mice died unexpectedly within a few days from each other, what happened?

TW Description of death

My sweet girl Pizza has been with me since March. She was shy but curious. She loved sunflower seeds and had just started crawling onto my hand. Two weeks ago the rescue I got them from contacted me to tell me they had two neutered males looking for a home and that it would be beneficial to expand family. Since I had never bonded mice, they took Pizza and my other girl (Soda<3) away for a couple days and introduced them to the new boys, Chip and Chop. They got along great and loved their setup. About a week ago Soda’s eye got swollen and I couldn’t take her to the vet on time before they closed. The next day, Pizza also had a swollen eye and she was barely moving and acting really weird. Her fur was scarce and she looked sick. I had to go to a 12 hour shift, so I asked my mom if she could take them for me. She did and they gave her antibiotics and eye ointment for both. When they got home, Pizza didn’t look any better. I picked her up to give her the medicines and she didn’t try to fight it. She took all the medicine and I put her back in the cage. She couldn’t walk anymore, her back legs had given out. She then had what I think was a heart attack; she convulsed, peed herself, then went completely still. I was absolutely heartbroken. That was Thursday night. Fast forward to today, Tuesday, Soda, Chip, and Chop are all doing good. Giving Soda her meds is a struggle because she is so squirmy but I try my best and she seems to be getting better (although she kinda hates me). My mom’s cat slept over in my room tonight (we don’t live together, she just brought the kitten so he wouldn’t be home alone while she’s at work on a night shift). We all slept fine and the gang was doing good when I woke up. I took a little longer to clean the cage today because I didn’t want the cat to potentially jump in, so I waited for my mom to pick him up around 4pm. I checked on Soda, she was doing good. Everyone else was moving. I went outside. I came back into the room. My roommate asked if one of them was sleeping. I expected it to be Soda, it would’ve made sense since she had been sick. But it was Chip. He was just gone, already cold. I hadn’t checked that long ago. I hadn’t cleaned the cage that much later than any other day. But he was already so gone. I don’t know how or why it happened. His red little eyes went white. I am so sad and so scared that it’s going to happen again. This feels like Mouse Final Destination. I am heartbroken. Rest easy my darlings.
