P0300, random multiple misfires
Hi all,
I’ve searched around but haven’t found much for this. I’m hoping somebody has dealt with this or similar and has some suggestions.
I recently purchased a 2018 Transit 350 for work, the 3.7L V6, 170k miles on it. All was fine during multiple test drives and a pre-sale inspection, and also for the first week or so after purchase. Then started getting a gurgling, bogged-down feel under heavy load, going a up a hill, or accelerating onto a highway, only during 2/3 or more throttle I’d say. Power just not there. Flashing CEL on dash… no constant CEL, only during the event. But I plugged my scanner in during and it gave codes P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303 (random multiple misfires, and misfires in cylinder 1,2,3)
Sooo… I started replacing the usual culprits. So far have done oil, filter, all plugs and all coils (NGK iridium plugs, gapped to spec, and Duralast coil packs). Inspected lines and hoses. Nothing. If anything it seems to be getting worse. Happens sporadically. More so on the highway when accelerating. Doesn’t really happen ad much on normal road driving, from a stop.
Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
