Hi, we will shortly be selling our family home due to divorce and splitting the proceeds. Our solicitor told us that we each need our own solicitor — one acting as the primary solicitor (charging around 75% of the legal fees) and the second solicitor charging the remaining part.

I just wanted to ask if this is normal practice? Some friends told me that one solicitor for both parties should be enough, so I’m a bit confused .
