The day I knew I'd become a consistent trader had nothing to do with money.

Everyone makes consistency seem like hitting the same profit amount each month. I thought that for the longest time.

For me, it was the complete opposite.

My turning point was taking a loss and not giving a shit about it.

I had a setup, took the trade, hit my stop loss, lost $200.

Old me would've revenge traded that same trade within seconds. I would've double my trade size to try and make it back immediately. Hours of mental hell.

This time I simply closed the platform, went on a walk, got some fresh air, then opened up the next day with a clear mind.

This was the moment I knew I was actually building discipline. Instead of just trying to memorize patters and indicators.

Trust me the money comes when you can control your emotions. But controlling your emotions takes much longer than trying to figure out the next great strategy.

Keep grinding if your going through a tough time right now. Your breakthrough is closer than you think.

People tell you to trade your with your money to get around prop firm rules. Does that really make it easier?

Seems like every trader online talks about how props are a scam and you should trade your own account. "Dont have a daily drawdown limit." "You're not forced to be consistent." "No time trades."

Here's my issue. Losing my own $500 is way more painful than losing a $50 evaluation.

When trading a prop, I know I can only lose my evaluation fee.
When trading my own money, I am watching my savings go down the drain. Completely different mindset.

I tend to run my losers longer in my own account because I hate realizing a loss. I get rid of my losing trades quickly during a prop eval because I know they will take me out at the drawdown limit.

Am I crazy or does trading your own money cause more pressure than a prop trade?

Weekend reminder: the market will still be there on Monday, your capital might not be if you revenge trade.

Lost 3 traders in a row this week. My ego is telling me I need to get it all back on Sunday night or Monday morning.

The problem is I've been down this path before. Revenge trade -> overleverage -> blow up half my account in one session trying to "get back to even."

So this weekend I'm staying away from my desk, no charts, no tradingview tabs pulled up. I'll be doing normal human things like enjoying sunlight and remembering that I have a life outside of candlesticks.

If you stuck around long enough and had week too, we'll do this again on Monday with fresh minds.
